The Nutcracker

"She's in the dance studio"

Ej's POV

I'm on my way to the dance studio to talk to Gina. Last week was the end of the season for me for waterpolo. I saw Gina at my championship game but she didn't come talk to me afterwards. Then apparently something happened between Ricky, Nini & Gina. Where from what I understand Ricky basically told Gina that he and her were just friends and to not be there in his space or something like that. I really don't know what actually happened. But theatre is putting on a variety show and Ms. Jenn has been asking where Gina has been. I had help from a few people to keep eyes on her. She's been in the dance studio.

Once I made it there I saw Gina dancing. I'm use to seeing her dance but not ballet. I always knew she was a great dancer but that's an understatement. She's amazing. She finally stopped dancing and noticed I was here . She turned the music off to talk to me.

"What are you doing here EJ?" She asked

"Looking for you. I wanted to talk to you" I said honestly

"Did Ms. Jenn send you?" She asked annoyed

"No. Nobody sent me. I wanted to talk to you on my own account ." I said

"What's up?" She asked we both sat down on the dance floor.

"I saw you at my championship game but you didn't come say hi to me afterwards. Why?" I asked her

"I'm sorry, I came there really to show some support for you. But my stomach started to hurt so bad I had to rush back home. But I did want to be there for you. I am happy that you guys won. Congratulations by the way." She explained

"Thank you. So are you in the Nutcracker ?" I asked noticing the music and remembering that's the dance winter performance thing

"Yes, you are looking at the Snow Queen for the show" she said proudly

"Congratulations, I don't know what that is but sounds like a lead role so I'm happy for you" I said honestly

"Yes it's a lead, it's my favorite part of the entire performance. I'm really excited about it" She said

"Is this why you are not going to be apart of the variety show?" I asked her

"Yes. I decided on this instead" She answered

"Is there another reason why you are doing this?" I questioned her so that she can open up to me

"If you are asking me if I'm avoiding everyone like Ricky and Nini just ask" Gina said frustrated

"No im not asking that. I heard about that but I wasn't there so I don't know what all actually happened and honestly I don't care. I just care about how you are feeling about theatre. You sing, act & dance. That's who you are and I don't think you should let something or someone's stupidity keep you from doing all that you are meant to be doing" I said honestly

"Don't get me wrong. I do love theatre. My love for it hasn't changed. I just don't think I'll be doing it here. I'm genuinely tired of getting supporting roles that I don't want to play. I want to make my mark. I'm tired of this whole costar , co choreographer thing while Ms. Jenn bends over backwards for everyone else's role. I know that I am a lead. Right now I'm putting my energy into myself and this lead role as Snow Queen. This is being recorded as my audition for a spot in the Alvin Ailey Sessions in New York. It's my goal." Gina explained
