When There Was Me And You

Nini's Pov

I locked and slammed my phone down. I'm sick of seeing Lily and Ricky, Ricky and Lily being a thing on Insta. It's really annoying.

"Stop making that face Neener you're going to make me mess up your eyeliner" Court said as she was doing my make up. We were getting ready to go to Ashlynn Birthday dinner.

"I'm sorry, I'm just...Court I don't know if I can do this." I said honestly. I have so much anxiety. I'm not ready to see Ricky and Lily there and see that. It just doesn't make any sense

"Tonight is not about you, or Ricky and Lily, it's about celebrating Ashlyn. She's our girl and we need to have her back tonight and celebrate her. Me and Howie got you" Court assured me

"Court I really don't know. My anxiety is on a all time high" I admitted

"Ok just breathe......breathe.....breathe. Everything is going to be just fine." Court said softly. She breathed in and out with me to help calm me down.

"Okay........okay" I said calming down

"We stay one hour for Ashlyn and then we leave. I'll have a timer and everything on. Me and Howie will do our best to distract you from that...okay. We are going to have a good time for Ashlyn" court encouraged

Finally we were done hair and make up. We were dressed and we headed to Ashlyn's. When we got there there was alot of people, Ashlyn has so many different kinds of friends because she's actually in a lot of clubs. I spotted Kaden, Maya, Natalie, Gina and EJ. Court and I went over to them.  By the time we came close to them Ashlyn was there and Big Red.

"Happy Birthday Ash! We love you" both Courtney and I said at the same time and we gave her our gifts.

"Thank you Court, Thank you Nini....I'm so happy you both are here" Ashlyn said to the both of us and hugged us separately as she accepted our gifts.

"HEY RICKY, OVER HERE" Big Red yelled while waiving Ricky to come over to where we were. I looked to see Ricky and he was alone. My anxiety started to flare up at the mention of his name. I looked at. Courtney.

"HEY.... Happy Birthday Ashlyn... I got you something" Ricky said handing her a card with bouquet of flowers. That's really sweet of Ricky. Ashlyn hugged Ricky and thanked him.

"Thank you Ricky, I'm glad you're here.....um where's Lily? Is she coming? I told you it was ok if she came" Ashlyn said

"Ugh, she's not coming, we just decided it was best to we'll you know and something did end up coming so she wasn't going to be able to make it......but anyway she does send her love and wishes you a happy birthday" Ricky explained

I was relieved hear that but I still get very anxious and nervous around Ricky. We have been broken up for 4 months now and....I just I can't get over how he decided to really end things. I just wanted some space so that we settle down, take off some pressure of what we have been feeling and I was hoping that it would trickle our spark for each other and not completely burn us out. I didn't want to break up.

"Hey Nini, hey Court, how's everything going with you guys?" Ricky turned to us and asked

"Never better" I answered nervously

"Things are good,  keeping busy over the summer. You see me at the pizzeria all the time. So you know same old same old" Courtney answered
