We had landed on the ground and I was glad. Riding on Appa without a saddle was kinda scary. We let Aang and Momo have time with Appa as we sat away from them. I was happy we had found Appa but I wondered what was next. We couldn't continue staying in Ba Sing Se.
"Look, we escaped from the Dai Li, we got Appa back, I'm telling you, we should go to the Earth King now and tell him our plan. We're on a roll!" Sokka said as if he had heard my thoughts.
"One good hour after weeks of trouble isn't much of a roll." Katara countered back.
"I hope you don't expect us to leave Ba Sing Se without telling the Earth King about our plan. This city is the only Earth Kingdom stronghold left." I told her.
"We can build on it. If we wanna invade the Fire Nation when the eclipse happens, we need the Earth King's support." Sokka said and I agreed.
"What makes you think we'll get it? I don't know if you've noticed but things don't usually go smoothly for our little gang." Toph said as she held her knees to her chest on the ground. She was right but we had to do something.
"I know but I've got a good feeling about this. This time will be different." I looked at Sokka. When did he ever get a good feeling?
"Long Feng is in control of the city. His conspiracy is too powerful. I think we should just keep flying and forget this horrible place behind us." Katara said but I shook my head.
"Then what are we going to do about the war?"
"Something else. I'm with sweetness. I've seen enough of Ba Sing Se and I can't even see." Toph shouted raising her hands.
"Okay then let's see what Aang thinks about this." I told them. "Aang!" I called him and he quickly ran to us.
"I agree with Sokka and Taliya." He said. He was listening to us? I was shocked." Now that we have Appa back, there's nothing stopping us from telling the Earth King the truth about the conspiracy and the war." Aang said and I grinned at him.
"You see, Aang's with us." Sokka said as he put his arm around Aang's shoulder and smiled. "It's the whole reason we came here in the first place. We have to try."
Katara started to think, " I guess if the Earth King knew the truth..... things could change." We all smiled at this except Toph.
"I don't trust the new positive Sokka. Long Feng brainwashed you, didn't he?" Toph shouted as she pointed at him. I rolled my eyes and looked closely at Sokka's eyes.
"His eyes aren't dilated." I told Toph. "They're still that beautiful shade of blue," I whispered. What I didn't realize was that Sokka had heard me, and he smiled at me with a slight blush. I looked away blushing. Aang ran to the shore, my blush disappearing. There were Earth Kingdom boats in the water.
"That's probably the Dai Li searching for us. So...." Sokka said as he turned to his sister.
"Let's fly." We got on Appa and immediately flew to the King's palace. We were on Appa's back, lying on our stomachs grabbing Appa's fur so we wouldn't fall.
"Can we please buy a new saddle? Riding bareback is terrifying." Toph shouted. I felt sorry for her. She couldn't see a thing.
"There it is." Sokka said as he pointed at a huge building. "That whole thing is the palace. The Earth King's chamber should be in the center."
"We have to be careful." Katara spoke." Long Feng has probably warned the Earth King we're coming."
"And they won't let us in that easily." I added.
"Why would you assume that? If you ask me we're just gonna sail right ...." Sokka's words were cut off by a flying boulder. We screamed as Appa swerved and avoided the rock.
