It was unbearably hot. I didn't know the Earth Kingdom could get this hot and I just couldn't wait to get under shade after Sokka finished shopping. Before this heat would have not affected me but because I had been away from home for long, I was sweating.
" It's pricy and I really do like it." Sokka said as he continued to stare at bag that he really wanted...or didn't want. Aang and I just sat on the ground trying to survive the heat.
"Then you should get. You deserve something nice." Katara said in a bored tone.
"I do, don't I? But no, it's too expensive. I shouldn't." I groaned out loud for him to acknowledge that I was tired of him being indecisive.
"Alright, then don't." Katara said and we started to leave. I didn't see Sokka behind us but I didn't care. I'm pretty sure he was still staring at that bag. A man that looked like a thug approached us.
"Hey, do you kids like earthbending? Do you like throwing rocks? Then check out Master Yu's earthbending academy." He said as he gave a flyer.
"Look, there's a coupon on the back. The first lesson is free." Aang said.
"Who knows? Maybe this Master Yu is the earthbending teacher you've been looking for." Katara positively.
"Yeah, maybe is. But I didn't think it would be someone like him." I said. I expected it to be... someone we didn't expect at all because that was always the way with Team Avatar. Sokka came and joined us and I rolled my eyes. " You bought the bag?"
"I finally decided I wanted it." He said as he hugged it. We walked to Master Yu's academy. We let Aang change into the attire and joined the beginner's class with six and seven year olds. We didn't watch and I hoped we wouldn't stay here for long.
"Eh, he's not the one." Aang said later as he tried getting small pieces of rock out of his ears.
"I think the boulder is gonna win back the belt at rumble six." We heard some boys pass by us as they chatted excitedly.
"He's going to have to fight his way through the best earthbenders in the world to even get a shot at the champ." The other boy said. Aang obviously hearing their conversation ran up to them.
"Excuse me but where is this earthbending tournament exactly?" Aang asked politely.
"It's on the island of noneya...none of your business." I rolled my eyes at the attempt of the joke. Sokka started laughing and I swat his arm.
"What? It was funny."
"I'll take care of this." Katara told Aang."Taliya, would you mind joining me?" I didn't understand why but when I saw a slight mischievous look in her eyes, I knew what that meant." Hey strong guys, wait up." Katara called as we ran after them. Once we reached them, I immediately started smiling sweetly at them. My mother had taught me how to charm men a little because of my unruly behavior but I never expected I would use it. I found it disgusting.
"We were wondering where that earthbending tournament was." I said in a sickeningly sweet voice.
"Wait, you two were with that small bald kid." One of them said. Katara immediately froze their heads together on a wall and I gave her high five.
"Now I'm going to ask, where's the earthbending tournament?" Katara asked.
"And if you'll answer she'll let you free." I added.
"Are you ready to find an earthbending teacher? Because we're going to Earth rumble six." Katara told the boys excitedly later on when we went back to them.
"How did you get them tell you?" Aang asked.
"Oh, a girl has her ways." I said as Katara and I started to giggle. Sokka looked at us with mysterious looks.
