The light was burning my eyes. I tried opening them as I got a feel of my surroundings. I could feel that I was moving and whatever I was on, I was the only one on top of it. After I felt what I was lying on I realized I was in a saddle and I came into conclusion that I was on Appa. What scared me as I finally opened my eyes was that my whole body was in pain so I couldn't move. "Sokka!" I tried to call him but I could barely say a whisper. I tried calling out to him till I felt something land on me. It was Momo. I tried to pat his head. "Could you get Sokka for me?" I knew the lemur was kind of smart and that he got what I meant. It wasn't long before I heard someone climb up and It was Sokka. I tried to sit up but it was too painful.
"Don't move." Sokka advised me. "You're going to hurt yourself more."
"Okay." I said as I reached out for his hand. He took it and gently squeezed my hand. He looked sad. "What happened? I don't remember anything after we realized it was a trap at the palace. Where's the rest?"
Sokka looked at me again. I could tell he was battling with some emotions. "We left all the adults back there." He said as calmly as possible. He was hurting, I could tell. His father was going to prison. Somehow I didn't feel anger or sadness. I felt nothing which was abnormal for me. I was always emotional.
"I'm sorry about your father." I told him as I squeezed his hand a bit. I looked him in the eye. " What happened to me? Why do I feel like I blacked out or something like that...."
"Because you did. I don't want to tell you what happened right now but I promise I will." Sokka promised. I got scared. Was it bad? Did I do something horrible?
"Hey, we're here. "Toph announced. "I can feel it."
"Uh, I think your feet need their eyes checked." I heard Katara say. I watched as Sokka looked out to where the others were probably looking. I just realized I never asked where we were going.
"No, she's right. We are here." Aang said.
"Wow, it's amazing." I heard Toph's admiration and excitement in her voice.
"I want to see." I shouted so they could hear me. My voice was coming back. Everyone climbed on Appa and that's when I noticed the duke, Haru and Teo. As they got in, they all looked at me weirdly and also with a little fear. I could tell by now that I did something horrible. Sokka saw them and sat in front of me trying to shield me. Katara came and started to heal me as we began our descent into the Western air temple so I'd heard. Once we got down, Haru, Teo and the dude were ready to explore but I knew we couldn't. Aang looked upset when Katara stopped him from exploring with the others.
"Why can't I go?" Aang asked.
"We need to decide what we're going to do now and since you're the Avatar maybe you should be a part of this." Katara explained.
"Fair enough." Aang said grumpily as he sat down. We all sat in a circle. Even though I could walk and sit, my body still ached. "So what's the new plan?"
"Well, if you ask me, the new plan is the old plan. You just need to master all four elements and confront the Firelord before the comet comes." I agreed with Sokka's plan even though I knew it was difficult. There's nothing else we could do.
"Oh yeah, that's great, no problem, I'll just do that. " He said sarcastically. Aang was rarely sarcastic.
"Do you have another plan?' I challenged him. He glared at me. I gasped and glared right back.
"Aang, no one said it's gonna be easy." Katara tried to soothe it over.
"Well, it's not even gonna be possible. Where am I supposed to get a firebending teacher?" Aang asked.
