Even though it was morning, it was dark as we headed towards the blizzard outside the palace. The only light around came from me. I seemed to glow in the dark." How did it happen?" Sokka asked from Appa's head. I could hear the shock in his tone but I decided to ignore it.
"I don't know. I've been having this.... thing for sometime ever since Kiki arrived. It's like bending but then again not really bending." I answered. I didn't want to shock any of them too much.
"Where is she anyway?" He asked.
"I don't know." She had disappeared after her eyes glowed. I could still feel her though deep within me. I guessed I had a spiritual connection with her.
My eyes moved on to the two girls behind me. Katara was silent. She stared off into the ice worriedly, looking for any sign of human life. I felt guilty. She thought it was her fault Zuko took Aang when it really was my fault. He had challenged me to kill him. He knew I couldn't do it. I couldn't even kill an animal. I sighed. Was this always going to happen? Was I always going to have to choose? I looked at my friends. I had told myself continuously that I had chosen good but I also felt like a betrayer to my people. I shook my head. I should be focused on finding Aang or I'll have to forever live with guilt.
We continued to fly in the blizzard. I gripped onto my coat. I could feel the bitter cold seeping into me. I covered my hair. It was still rainbow coloured and it glowed. It could attract Zuko wherever he is. Down below I spotted a huge gap in the ice that made us land. Sokka and I hopped off to search for them but it was too dark and too deep. We got back on Appa.
"Don't worry. Prince Zuko couldn't have gone too far in this weather." Yue comforted us.
"I'm not worried they'll get away in the blizzard. I'm worried they won't." Katara stared at the ice worriedly. I frowned and stared to cross my fingers. Aang was an Airbender. He couldn't die in the cold. As for Zuko.....
" They're not going to die in this blizzard. If we know anything is that Zuko never gives up. They'll survive. And we'll find them." Sokka said determined as his eyes didn't leave the front. Night fall came quickly. I had gotten more worried as we wonder through the ice. As we continued to fly, Katara shouted suddenly,
" There!" I looked up to see a bright light heading towards a small cave. I didn't think twice, I jumped off of Appa.
" What do you think you're doing?!" Sokka shouted. I still wasn't used to flying but I managed as Appa was right behind me.
"That's gotta be Aang! Yip yip!" I heard Katara shout. I spotted Aang in the ice trying to wriggle himself outta of the ropes. I dropped to the ground quickly. I hit my shoulder in the process but I ignored as I ran to Aang but Zuko beat me to it. Appa landed quickly. Zuko threw Aang aside.
"Here for a rematch." He growled at Katara. I ran up to Aang and tried to get him out of the ropes.
"Trust me Zuko, it's not gonna be much of a match." Katara said as they fought. I got out a dagger and cut the ropes quickly.
"Taliya, what happened to your hair?" Aang asked. I didn't answer him. I hugged him tightly. He hugged me back but then asked" Where's Kiki?" I sighed.
"I'm not important right now." I answered. If he knew what I did....... Aang stared into my eyes for too long. I guessed they were different colours too. " You're the rainbow sylph." He whispered and my hair turned to it's original dark brown colour. I gasped as I looked back at him and my hair.
"What's that?" I asked as Kiki flew out of nowhere and perched on my shoulder.
"Why didn't I realize this?" Aang said as he stared at Kiki. His eyes didn't leave Kiki's and I started to wonder what a rainbow sylph really was.
