Have you ever watched something happen but still not believe it a minute later when someone talks about it? Your own two eyes watched the event take place, but your own conscience refuses to accept what happened. Maybe it's because you found it too crazy to be true. Or maybe it's because you try to believe otherwise to hide yourself from the pain when reality kicks in.
That was happening to me.
I hadn't moved an inch from where I stood. Maybe it was because I got kissed by the boy I believed I loved. Or maybe it was because a disgusting feeling was starting to settle in me. I thought anger was an unbearable feeling. I thought sadness was too. But none of those feelings could compare to the feeling called betrayal. It was so bitter I felt like gagging.
"Taliya, my dear. Listen to me. You have to stay strong for your friends. They need your help." Iroh's words finally made me move, and I could see the tears falling down his face. I nodded as I ran off in the direction everyone was in, and I hoped I wasn't late. I didn't train at the Rainbow Temple for nothing.
I finally arrived at the opening and I spotted Aang fighting Azula and him, the boy's name I couldn't say anymore because of my fear of crying on the spot, fighting Katara. How dare he kiss me! How dare he apologize for nothing. I felt the anger erupt in me and for the first time, I accepted it. I smiled as I watched my hair slowly turn grey. I didn't hold back. I could hear Kiki trying to tell me to calm down, but I couldn't. It was nice to feel nothing but anger for once.
I ran over to Katara and hit him with a rock. He barely dodged it making me more angry. "Taliya." I heard Katara call me. She looked worried, but I didn't care. I was protecting my friends, and Azula and her brother needed to die. The world would be better without them. He kept on shooting fire, and Katara and I kept dodging it. I waited for him to get tired so I could get a clean shot.
But then, at the corner of my eye, I watched as Aang fell, almost looking unconscious, and he shot fire at me and singed a sleeve. I fell, and Katara ran up to me. "I'm okay." I told her." Go help Aang." She nodded. I tore off the sleeve of the white kimono I was wearing. I tried my best not to look at my scars as I stood up and glared at him.
He seemed less confident now that Katara had disappeared, but I didn't give a damn. Anger still burned in my veins. "You lied to me!" I screamed. "You told me you had changed!" I said as I quickly bent the water and formed octopus legs on my arms. I could feel the sadness creeping in me.
"You don't understand Taliya and never will. This is my destiny. I need my honor back." I growled as I slashed at him, not even thinking about it now. I hit him at any chance I got, avoiding his fire. Azula appeared out of nowhere and shot fire making me fly all the way back. I hissed as my back hit the crystals, my hair falling into my face.
I sat up slowly and watched Aang rise from the ruins and land on the ground, making it rumble. I stood up and watched as he headed towards the prince and the princess at full speed, only for a Dai Li agent to make him fall off. I got into a fighting stance as Dai Li agents surrounded all of us, and Katara did the same, forming multiple octopus legs. I grabbed one dagger and aimed at the neck of an unsuspecting Dai Li agent. I smiled as he fell and bled to his death. The rest came bending rocks at me, and with air, I managed to blow them away.
He joined the Dai Li agents, making my anger rise as I used air to push them away from me as far as possible. I threw another dagger at him and aimed for the neck, but a Dai Li agent protected him, and it stabbed him in the chest. I watched him look at me with shock like he didn't recognize me anymore, but I didn't care. He did this to me.
