Taliya's POV
The days couldn't possibly grow any duller than they already were. A part of me was already regretting my decision of leaving home but something in the back of my head told me that this would be worth it. My father was pretending to be nice so I could do everything he wanted. I pretended that I was happy that he had become nice. It was annoying but it was also better since he laid off me when it came to training.I was standing on the ship's deck when the gentle sea breeze touched my hair. I saw that it was getting warmer and that we were approaching the Fire Nation. Why were we heading towards the Fire Nation? Weren't we supposed to be chasing the Avatar?"Lady Taliya?" Kuzon came up to me in a low voice.
"Why are you calling me Lady......".He swiftly indicated where my father was standing on the other side of the deck. "Oh. So do you have any idea why were heading towards the Fire Nation with all these ships?"
"We're going to be staying at the border for a few days." He informed me.
"Okay." I said, then turned back to face the sea. Later in the morning, we had stopped. My father was looking through a telescope. Many officials were looking in one direction and I proceeded to look as well. In the distance, I could see a white thing in the air and a ship on the water following.
"The Avatar and the banished prince. This must be my lucky day." My father said with a smug. I gasped.
What was the Avatar and Zuko coming towards the Fire Nation? How were they going to pass ? My father's ships had formed a blockade and I knew my father would stop at nothing to capture them both. I asked my father if I could use the telescope. I saw a white giant animal that looked like a bison. I saw three people on it, which I guess is the Avatar and his friends. I saw Zuko right behind them gaining speed.
Were they both mad? How could they just head towards the Fire Nation? They were both going to get caught. I wished I was there to tell him to turn around. Has trying to capture the Avatar made him stupid?
"Commander Zhao, what are your orders?" The captain asked.
"Shoot the bison down, captain." Oh no, this wasn't good. I wished I could do something but I didn't want to give anyone a reason to find me as a traitor.
"But there's a fire navy ship out there sir, one of our own. What if it's hit?"At least I knew the captain had a heart.
"So be it. It belongs to a traitor."
The captain looked shocked and I felt like tearing my father's face down. I felt the dagger I had hidden in my boot. How could he??!! "Taliya, " I heard Kuzon whisper, " calm down. I hope you're not thinking about stabbing your father. It would be foolish to do so."
"No." I said. He was right. It would be foolish if I did something foolish now.
"This is why I don't like you hiding daggers in your armor." I rolled my eyes. Kuzon left me, scared to be caught by my father talking to me too long.
"Ignite!" My father ordered and the soldiers then placed rocks with sparking chemicals on the cannon then lit them all up with firebending. I looked up to the sky and said a quick prayer to Agni hoping that the Avatar and Zuko would be okay. " Launch!"
All the fire balls where launched. I looked anxiously as they soared in the sky. How were they going to survive this? I knew if the fireballs didn't get them than my father would and they would be taken straight to Firelord Ozai. I saw the white thing more clearly. It was an actual sky bison swaying in the air avoiding all the fire balls. Zuko couldn't sway his ship. We saw smoke trailing from the bison. His fur must have caught fire. I had to look in the telescope again. The Avatar seemed to be doing well but Zuko.....his ship was hit. Why wasn't he stopping?
