An inconvenient attachment

Chapter 12

We lay in bed for a while. My head on his chest. Lando's stroking my hair. I look at my watch. "We have to go soon." Lando growls and wraps his arms around me, "Ugh, I just want to stay here all night." His finger makes circles around my watch. I stare at it for a while.

"It was my brothers" I say softly.

"Yeah, I thought so" he says while holding me tightly. I give him a soft slap on his stomach, "ok, time to get up." I try to stand up, but Lando's keeping me in place. "Lando, we're going to be late" I laugh while trying to wiggle free. "They'll wait" he jokes as he rolls over. Now he lays on top of me, while planting kisses on my whole face. I manage to get one arm free and I start to tickle his sides. Lando bursts out laughing and his grip loosens. With all the strength I have I push him off me. I push a little to hard and Lando ends up on the floor. "Oops" I say while sprinting to the bathroom. Lando jumps up and chases me. I'm just quick enough and lock the door behind me. "Get dressed" I shout through the door.

"Giving orders now?" Lando says. I hear him laughing.

"Your so good at it, I thought I should try" I joke. When I finish my make-up and hair Lando's already sitting on the bed, waiting for me. Wearing black jeans and a black t-shirt. He looks really handsome.

"Ready?"

I nod. I reach to open the hotel door, but Lando is faster than me and opens it for me. "You look really pretty by the way" he says as he grabs my hand and kisses it. The hotel door closes behind us.

"Thanks, you're not to bad yourself," I say while looking at my watch, "fuck, we're really late."

We hurry down to the restaurant. Charles, Charlotte and Carlos are already sitting at the table. "Well, look who decided to join us" Carlos jokes. "Sorry, sorry, its all Mia's fault" Lando says while sitting down. I slap him softly on the back of his head, "oh shut up."

"I hope you guys didn't have to wait too long" I say while sitting down next to Lando and Charlotte.

"It's fine" Carlos says while the waiter comes to take our orders.

"So, are you guys all ready for tomorrow?" I ask when our food arrives. "I'm going to beat their asses" Charles jokes. "Yeah, keep dreaming mate" Lando answers.

"So, what did you think about today?" Carlos asks me. Charlotte looks at me smirking, probably knowing that I would lie.

"Yeah, it was fun watching you guys drive."

"I heard you waved at Daniel very enthusiastically" Carlos jokes. I put my hands in front of my face out of embarrassment. "Oh god, stop it" I beg, while shaking my head.

We sit, talk and laugh the whole time during dinner. I realize how much I enjoy their company. "Well, these guys can't have dessert, but I don't think that should stop us" Charlotte says to me laughing. "You are so right" I agree.

When our desserts come Lando quickly takes a bite from my ice cream. "He! Take your mouth of my ice cream" I joke. I feed him another spoon of ice cream. "Ok, I should stop now" he sighs while taking another bite. Suddenly two hands grab Lando's shoulders to scare him. "You guys didn't wait for us?" I look back and see its Max and Kelly. "And eating ice cream" Max jokes to Lando. "Oh shut up you" Lando says while hitting Max his hands away. "Wait, now I feel bad. Were you guys joining us for dinner?" I ask.

"No, no, we had dinner in the city" Kelly says.

"You guys had fun?" Charlotte asks. Kelly nods smilingly, looking at Max. They look really happy.

"Well were going to our room, have fun you guys" Max says while dragging Kelly away. "Oh by the way, I thought you looked really good on the pictures Mia" Kelly says quickly while turning the corner. I look confused. Wait, what pictures? Oh yeah right, fuck, the photographers. I look at Charlotte who takes out her phone. She shows me the pictures. Theres one of me and Kelly arriving at the track, a few of us watching the track and a lot of Lando and me at his garage. I sigh. I don't like seeing myself on camera. "You look cute" Charlotte says trying to comfort me.

I take a sip of my drink and I look at the caption. I almost choke on my drink. Lando slaps my back softly while laughing. "You allright?"

"Look at the caption" I say while looking at him. "Yeah I saw it earlier" he says casually. "Lando, it says I'm your girlfriend" I look at him, my mouth slightly open.

"Oeeeh, Lando has a girlfriend" Carlos says jokingly. "Oh shut up Carlos."

I look at Lando with my eyes squinted, "Oh yeah? Would it be that bad?"

"No no no, I didn't mean it like that" he says while rolling his eyes.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" I ask jokingly. "Yeah, what are you going to do about it" he says while raising his eyebrows.

"You guys are cute together" Charles says while waving to the waiter. Charles hands him his card. I grab my wallet out of my bag. "Don't worry about it. Dinner is on me" Charles says, waving away my wallet. "Wait, really?" I look at him surprised. "Yeah sure, you guys pay next time" Charles jokes. "Thank you."

Lando puts his hand on my back when we walk out of the restaurant. "See you guys tomorrow" Lando says when we walk out of the elevator. "Bye!" I wave at them.

"Your friends are really great" I say when I take of my clothes. Lando throws me his shirt, "Yeah, they're cool". "I have my own pajamas" I say while putting his shirt on. "I like you in my shirt" Lando says while brushing his teeth. I sit down on the bed and take of my make up. Lando plops down next to me in his boxers. I walk to the bath room to brush my teeth. "We should probably go to sleep, you have a long day tomorrow" I say when I walk out of the bathroom. I look over to Lando who is fast asleep. I smile and lay down next to him, my head on his chest. I could get used to this.
