An inconvenient attachment

Chapter 68

"Mia? Are you in here?" Kelly asks. I open the door. "Are you ok?" she asks when she sees my face. "He was fucking flirting with that girl, Kelly. Right in front of my face" I say angry. I walk over to the sink to wash my hands. "Nooo no" Kelly looks surprised.

"He was!" I go with my hands through my hair, trying to get some sort of style in there. I take a deep breath. "I know what flirting looks like, Kel."

"Sorry, but I didn't think it was that bad, he was just being nice" she says, bumping her shoulder to mine, trying to cheer me up. "No, nice would be 'Hey girl, sure i'll take a picture with you, but i'm here with my girlfriend so bye!" Kelly laughs and shakes her head.

"Come on, you have to ask him" Kelly says. "Ugh, ok fine." I sigh when I push the door open. Max and Lando are waiting a few meters further. Lando is leaning against a tree. They don't see us yet, which gives me the time to quickly light one up. "I need a cigarette first" I say while grabbing one out of my bag. I told Lando I stopped smoking, he'll see that I lied. Well to be honest, I don't really give a fuck. I guess I have a free pass since he started flirting with other girls. Or maybe he never quit flirting, what the hell do I know. "You should really stop" Kelly says with a disgusted look on her face. Why is everybody always telling me what to do? It's fucking annoying. "Let me be" I say, getting more irritated by the second. I look up and see Max shaking his head at me. "I thought you'd quit" Max says when he and Lando walk up to us, immediately pulling the cigarette out of my mouth and throwing it on the ground. "Fuck off Max, these things are expensive" I say annoyed, already reaching to light up another one.

"What's wrong with you?" Lando asks surprised, grabbing my shoulders. I push his hands of off my shoulders. "We'll be at the red rollercoaster over there" Kelly says, giving us some space. "Wait, I want to hear" Max says, trying to eavesdrop. "Come on" Kelly says while pulling Max away.

"So, what's wrong?" Lando asks, clearly having no clue what's going on. "You! That's what is wrong" I say annoyed. "Wait, what did I do?" Now Lando looks really confused. "You were fucking flirting with that girl! I was standing right there!"

"What are you talking about? I wasn't!" Lando tries not to laugh. "If you're going to flirt with someone at least have the decency to do it when i'm not there" I say angry. Lando bites his lip, knowing that if he will laugh now, i'll get even more angry.

"I wasn't flirting with her!"

"You totally were!"

"Mia, I was not flirting with her" Lando says slowly.

"I'm not going to discuss this" I say while throwing my hands up in the air, like the flirting couldn't be more obvious. "Mia, I would never flirt with another girl. Hear me out" he says when I start to sigh. "I was just being nice. If I would have cut her off like you wanted me to, I would be all over the internet like some dickhead right now. These things happen. You can't let it bother you. You know I would never do that" Lando says. I roll my eyes and finish my cigarette.

"Come on, you know i'm right, these days people film everything. I would be trending on twitter right now. #dickheadLando or some shit like that" he says, wrapping his arms around me. Pulling me in for a hug. "You trust me right?" he asks. "Yes" I sigh.

"Then know I would never flirt with another girl."

I sigh. "Ok. I'm sorry."

"Now come, lets get you in some rollercoasters" Lando jokes. He lays his arm around my shoulders as we walk towards the rollercoaster. "Sooo" he says.

"What?"

"You were jealous" he says while wiggling his eyebrows, idiot. I look at his face, he is clearly enjoying this way too much. "Don't flatter yourself, I wasn't that jealous" I say, but we both know that is a lie. "Sure" he laughs.

"I'm guessing now is a bad time to bring up the smoking?" Lando asks. I give him a look which says it all. "Ok, tomorrow then" he says.

We wait for Max an Kelly to get off the rollercoaster. Max his face looks kind off disturbing. Kelly can't stop laughing. She has a photo in her hand and shows it to us. Max looks like he's dying. "Oi, that bad huh?" Lando asks. "No, that was so much fun! Lets go again" Kelly says while jumping up and down. "No fucking way" Max says. "Come on, don't be a party pooper" Kelly jokes. "No way!"

"Max, you drive cars which go 300 km/h, you can't be scared of a rollercoaster" I laugh. "That thing goes on forever! Six bloody minutes" Max takes a deep breath while sitting down on the bench. "I pity Kelly if you think six minutes is forever" Lando says. Lando doesn't even have time to jump aside before Max slaps him in his stomach.

"Wait.." I say, holding my hands up. "What is that smell?" I ask while sniffing a couple times. Max looks at me like i'm crazy. "Is that.." I look around and then directly at Max, "is that the smell of a, a little scaredy-cat?"

If looks could kill, I would definitely be dead right now. "Oh shut the fuck up. Lets go" Max says while jumping up. I look at him, not sure if he's leaving or going in the rollercoaster one more time. "Are you guys coming or are you scared now?"

"Last one pays dinner" I say while sprinting towards the entrance, followed by Lando on my heels.
