The next day Lando is gone a lot during the day. Working at the McLaren office. The evenings we spent just chilling with his friend Max.

"So, are you ready for this weekend?" Lando asks on Wednesday. He just worked the morning and came back after lunch. We lay on the couch. My legs wrapped around his. His friend is out today, so we have the house for ourself.

"Yeah" I know how to bring out.

"You sure about that?"

"I have to tell you something" I say while sitting up straight. Oh fuck, am I really going to do this? I don't want him to pity me. Or to look at me different. I haven't told many people about the abuse, but everyone I told did look at me different. Well, not Max. But I think he is from a different universe.

"Ok, you're starting to scare me a little bit" Lando says. The look on his face is already worried. Shit.

"No, it's nothing bad" I say to ease him a bit. Well, it is bad actually.

"Well, spit it out" he says. I can't help but smile. "Don't do it" Lando says, already knowing what I'm about to say.

"I don't spit" I joke. Oh shit, why do I always make these jokes in serious conversations. Lando looks at me. Unknowingly biting his lip. Fuck, he looks hot.

"Oh believe me, I know that. Now tell me what's bothering you." Suddenly the feeling creeps up on me that I shouldn't tell him. I'm probably too much trouble, too much work. I've been told that many times before.

"It's nothing really. I just wanted to tell you my ex boyfriend is probably coming to the race in Spain" I blurt out. Well, guess I couldn't tell him the truth after all.

"Oh ok, you scared me for a bit there. Thought you were going to break up with me or something" Lando jokes.

"No, you idiot. I'm just not looking forward to the possibility of seeing him."

"You won't, babe. Don't worry" Lando says, trying to comfort me.

"What time do we leave tomorrow?" I ask, trying to change the subject. I don't want to talk or think about Noah to be honest. "Well, about that.." Lando says with his teeth clenched.

"Oh no, is it that early?" I ask, not even trying holding back any sighs.

"Actually, I was going to ask if you were ok with leaving this afternoon?"

"Yeah, of course. Should I try and see if there are any tickets left?" I say while reaching for my phone. Lando looks at me laughing. "No need, tickets are already taken care of" he says. "Who paid for them?"

"I don't know actually. I think McLaren did" Lando says while shrugging his shoulders. "They don't need to pay for me. I can pay my own tickets." Well, we both know I can't, but Lando doesn't say anything about it.

"They already paid for the plane, so one person more or less won't matter."

"Ok, then I'll pay for the hotel room" I offer.

"No need, already paid for." Fuck, is everything already paid for? I look at Lando slightly annoyed. I don't want everyone to pay things for me. I'll get a job or fucking sell feet picks or something. Lando sees my face and holds his hands up like he's under shot. "I didn't pay for it" he says.

"Well fuck me if I'm wrong but.."

"You're wrong" Lando interrupts me.

"What? You didn't even know what I was about to say?"

"No, but you said 'fuck me'" he says while licking his lip and laughing. I throw a pillow at his face and stand up. "Oh shut up" I say while walking towards the stairs.

"So, is that a no or a yes?"

"Help yourself" I yell down the stairs. I giggle at my joke.

While packing my bag for this weekend this anxious feeling overwhelms me. Fuck. What if I do see Noah this weekend? The thought even frightens me. I grab my phone and call Addison. No answer. I call Kate. Then I call Charlotte. Also no answer. Shit, who do I call next? Oh fuck it, I click on Max his name and decide to ring him.

Max: "Mia? Is everything ok?"

He sounds worried.

Mia: "Yes, does there need to be anything wrong for me to call you?"

Max: "No, just surprised. What's up?"

Mia: "Nothing much. Are you guys arriving tonight?"

Max: "I am. Kelly is coming Saturday or Sunday."

Mia: "Oh ok."

Max: "Maybe dinner tonight?"

Mia: "Yeah sure, sounds fun. I'll ask Lando."

Max: "Ok, spill it."

Mia: "What?"

Max: "You didn't call me to chit chat."

Mia: "Ok, fine. I just wanted to check one more time. Are you really sure.."

I don't even get to finish my sentence before Max interrupts me.

Max: "Mia, I don't think you ex boyfriend can come into the paddock. I'll ask around a bit, ok?"

Mia: "Ok, thanks. I'm sorry."

Max: "No need to be sorry, that's what friends are for."

Mia: "Oh my gosh."

Max: "What? What happend?"

Mia: "Did we just become bff's?"

Max: "Oh fuck off."

Before I can say anything Max has already hung up the phone. I let myself fall backwards on the bed. I almost shit my pants when I see Lando leaning against the doorway. Fuck, what did he hear? Oh right, we were talking dutch so he probably didn't understand a thing.

"Who were you calling?" he asks while walking towards me.

"Max."

"Oh nice, how was he?" I wonder if that's a hint of jealousy I hear in his voice.

"Fine. We just talked a bit about this weekend" I explain. Lando lays down next to me.

"I think it's nice you get along with him so well" Lando says while laying his hand on top of my belly, making circles with his fingers. Oh god. I gasp when his hand goes down a bit. "Yeah, very nice" I stammer.

"You know I can leave if you want to talk to him a bit more?" His finger goes down my panties. Fuck.

"I'm fine." My voice sounds shaky. I tilt my head slightly. His mouth inches away from mine.

"Good" he says as he slams his mouth on mine.
