Lando's pov.

"What happened, Max?" I realize my voice sounds angry. I know it isn't his fault, but is pisses me off I'm not there to help her. It should be me that comforts her, not Max or fucking Pierre.

"Relax, she's fine now. She's sleeping" Max says on the other end of the phone. I sigh. "She had another panic attack" Max says softly, probably not wanting Mia to hear. "Fuck."

"It's normal Lando, what she has been through. Any normal person would be fucked up" Max says. "She's not fucked up."

"Come on, you know what I mean" Max sighs. "She told you everything that happened? With her brother and everything?" I ask, trying not to sound jealous. I put Max on speaker as I grab a bag out of my closet. I texted Charlotte, asking if she could book me a flight to Milan as soon as possible. I have meetings tomorrow, but they'll manage without me. Let Daniel do the talking, he'll like that.

"Yeah" Max says. I don't know what to say. I'm surprised. Why can she talk to Max about these things so easily? While it takes her so much to tell me these stuff.

"Why does she likes to hang out with you so much?" I ask before I can stop myself. "Lando, she's my friend" Max says. "I know that," I say while rolling my eyes, "it's just, she talks so easily to you."

I hear Max sighing through the phone. "I don't know Lando, maybe because she doesn't care how I see her."

"What do you mean?"

"She likes you, very much. I'm just a friend. She doesn't want you to worry about her. Or maybe because I don't worry as much. I don't fucking know" he says. "I don't mind" I say.

"You sound like you do."

"I don't. I just wish she would talk to me more easily."

"She does. She will."

"Thanks Max."

"See you tomorrow" Max says as I throw some clothes in my bag. "What?"

"I mean, you're coming here right?" Max asks.

"How did you know?"

"You're an idiot" Max laughs before he hangs up the phone.

I grab some other things I may need and put them in my bag. "Are you ready?" my other Max, one of my best friends who actually lives with me, asks. "Yeah, I think I got everything."

"If you forgot anything just let me know, I'll take it with me to Monaco" he offers. "Thanks."

"Is Mia coming to Monaco?"

I shrug my shoulders. "I really have no idea. I hope so, lets say fifty/fifty." I let myself drop down on the couch, next to Max. "What time are you leaving?"

"Around six."

"Jeez, that's early. Ugh fine, I'll drive you" he offers, without me having to ask. "Thanks mate."

"Just one more episode?" Max asks. "Fine" I say. We already watched six episodes this week.

The next morning Max drives me to the airport really early. A few hours later I arrive at Milan. A car is already waiting for me when I get outside. Charlotte really thinks of everything. If I didn't have her. A little while later I arrive at the hotel Max is staying at. I didn't book a room, I'll just stay at Mia's. I hope Kate isn't home, she scares the shit out of me.

I close the car door and almost sprint to Max his room. I look at my watch, I hope he's awake by now. "He" Max says. I almost scream and quickly turn around. "You have to stop doing that" I say angry, trying to get my heart rate to calm down. "Sorry" he laughs as he opens the door. He's in his workout clothes, he probably just went for a run. "I don't think she's up yet" Max says. He points to the hallway. "First door on your right."

"Thanks" I say as I walk to the door and slowly open it. The bed is empty. The light in the bathroom is on. I sit down on the bed. "Holy fuck" Mia screams as she opens the bathroom door. She runs towards me and throws her arms around my neck, causing us both to fall on the bed. "What are you doing here?"

"I just thought I surprise you a day early" I say. I try to sound as happy as possible. I don't want to say I was worried about her. "That's nice" she says as she keeps looking at my lips. I softly kiss her. "Are you leaving?" I say when I see she's fully dressed. "I have school this morning" she says, "but only a few hours. I'm done at 12" she quickly adds when she sees my face. "Ok, I'll pick you up. I'm going to take you somewhere" I say. "Where?"

"It's a surprise."

She looks at me smiling. My stomach makes a weird sound. "Did you eat breakfast?" Mia asks. I shake my head. "Nope, it was too early."

"I think Max is making smoothies" she says as she jumps up out of the bed. Weird, she looks fine. "Come" Mia says as she grabs my hand. When we get to the kitchen Max is indeed making smoothies, but for himself. Mia grabs some plates and bread. I wonder how long she has been staying here, she seems to know her way around his kitchen.

"What are you doing today?" Max asks.

"I'm picking Mia up at 12, but before that, I don't know."

"Want to join me for a workout?"

"You just went running" Mia says, looking at him like he's sick or something. "That was the warmup" Max and I say both at the same time. Mia sighs, "I am glad I'm not a formula one driver. All that working out and eating healthy. It's doing my head in already" she says jokingly. Max takes out the straw of his smoothie and makes a gesture with it towards Mia, drops of smoothie landing on her face. She looks at him with her mouth open. "You did not" she says surprised.

"I did."

Mia doesn't think for a second, grabs her glass and throws the contents at Max. Max is too quick and ducks, water falling on the floor beside him. "Too slow" Max teases. Mia acts like she throws the contents at Max again, but this time with an empty glass. Max quickly ducks before he realizes it's empty. "Too dumb" she says.
