Chapter 62

It was a full moon when Jake impatiently dragged Claire in their own suite room. The Annual Ball is still on-going but he and Josh had other plans with her. As soon as Rowan let the two of them be with her just for the night, Adriano had no other choice but to watch them leave as he sulk in anger and jealousy.

"A-Anong gusto mong inumin?" Kinakabahang tanong ni Jake, nakaharap sa countertop dito sa kanilang hotel room.

"Anything will do." Claire's eyes remained straight ahead, firmly staring at his back.

Jake could feel the intensity in them even if he had his back on her. Josh immediately went inside the bathroom and took a shower after they entered their suite. Kaya ngayon, silang dalawa lang ang nandidito sa kusina. Their room is big, too big to be called a suite room. Papasok na itong penthouse. A set of dark brown leather sofa sat ajar to a 60 inch flat screen TV standing tall at the center of the living room.

The countertop and the island counter of the kitchen were tiled with dark marble. Maganda ang kusina dahil sa suwabeng interior. It's almost as if it is custom-made for a man, because the dark and silver theme suits them well. Sa kaliwa ni Claire ay ang nakasaradong oak door ng kanilang kwarto.

Dahan-dahan niyang nilapitan si Jake. His shoulders are obviously tensed as he busy himself with opening the wine bottle and pouring their wineglass. Hindi ito agad nakagalaw nung malamyos na pumalupot ang mga kamay ni Claire sa matigas nitong bewang.

"Why do we even have to drink..." Her hot breath fanning the back of his ear sent explosive fireworks down his spine. "...when we can just jump to the finale?"

Mabilis na natanggal ang mga kamay niya kay Jake dahil sa biglaang pag-atras nito. Claire smirked. Hindi na makatingin sa kanya ang lalake, namumula na ang mga tenga at leeg. She let out a sexy chuckle and took a few steps towards him. Ngunit umatras lang ito sa kanya. Hanggang sa mapasandal ito sa sink.

Claire successfully cornered him. Gripping on the sink on each of Jake's side, she locked him in place. Pilit niyang hinahagilap ang mga mata nito, but Jake couldn't look her in the eye.

"What's wrong?" Her voice resonating an angelic voice. "Don't you want me?" She teased.

"I do!" Malutong itong napamura at iniwas ulit ang tingin. "But we need yo talk."

Saka lang natigilan si Claire nung may mga kamay na pumalibot sa kanyang maliit na bewang. She straightened herself and felt Josh's hard chest. Sa pagc-corner niya kay Jake para matapos na niya ang kanyang trabaho bilang pansamantalang Escort nila — dahil utos iyon ni Rowan — she's now sandwiched in between them.

"What are you doing, Claire? You're giving our husband a hard time—"

"Husband?" Wala sa sariling sambit niya.

Tinanggal niya ang pagkakahawak sa sink at sinubukang tanggalin ang mga kamay ni Josh. But his hold tightened even more, locking her in place. How ironic.

"Ikinasal tayong tatlo, Claire." Mahina pero may diin ang bawat salita ni Jake. "You are married to us."

Umarko ang kilay niya. "Last time I checked, I'm neither married nor single."

Jake's jaw squared as he coldly stared at her. "You are our wife—"

"We're in the boundary of the Amparos, I'm not your wife." Malamig na putol niya.

Naramdaman niya ang paggalaw ng mga kamay ni Josh. She then felt his lips grazing the side of her ear.

"Why did you run away from us?"

Claire rolled her eyes when she could almost hear the pain in his voice. Jake's cold, yet expressive, eyes glistened at the sight of her sassiness. She could almost see tears pooling in them. And she thought, they are savagely ridiculous. How can they ask her that when they should've known the truth already?
