Chapter Forty- Six: Smile

Theo's POV~

"Love makes a family."-Gigi Kaeser

It's around 9:00 at night, our beautiful baby girl has been born. She is now being held in a nursery with other children for the first night so Shai and I can rest. It's crazy to think that we are so young but are already parents.

And having a child with the love of my life means the world to me. Had I never met Shailene I would have never had an exciting life. She's adventurous and a risk taker which I love in a woman. And soon enough, I will be putting a ring on her finger, claiming my love for her.

"Theo?" Shai blinks, rubbing her eyes.

"Yes love?" I pull my chair closer to hold her hand.

"This may sound rude but I'm sore and uncomfortable and I cannot sleep and I want to get the hell out of here!" She groans, fixing her pillow.

I laugh, seeing Shai annoyed is hot and I just want to make sweet love to her. It's going to be difficult with a little one, but I'll make sure I can do it.

"It's not funny Theodore. Try having a baby and sleep in this stupid ass bed." She glares.

"I can do half of what you just said." I get up and climb into the hospital bed with Shai.

Luckily enough, there's room and Shai likes to sleep on her side anyways. I turn the lights out, besides the TV and cuddle in with my love.

Shai yawns and says, "Much better. I guess I'm so used to sleeping with you that I need to be next to you."

I run my fingers along her soft skin and kiss her forehead, "I love you so much."

"I'm glad we met." She looks up into my eyes, I smile seeing her happy.

"I am too. Friends or lovers, I couldn't have had lived without you." I explain, it's the truth.

Shai brings her soft lips towards mine, me asking for entrance. Our lips move in the most perfect rhythm and I begin to leave a love bite on her neck.

"I love you, good night." Shai yawns and I hold her close.

Shailene's POV~

The sun seeps through the window, showing beautiful down town L.A. I look up to find my soulmate, Theo soundly asleep. A nurse had been checking on my health and writing in the board.

"Good morning Miss.Woodley. Huge fan by the way." The nurse smiles.

I laugh and say, "Thanks."

"How are you feeling?" She grabs her clipboard and pen.

I run my hand through my hair, feeling it slightly greasy and respond, "I feel great, but a shower could make me feel even better."

She writes down a note on the clipboard and says, "Of course! I will grab a robe and you can pick out a pair of clothes. I will send in a nurse to help you or your..."

I giggle and look down at Theo, "Yeah he can help me."

She smiles and sets down a robe before she leaves.

"Theo babe, wake up." I nudge his shoulder gently.

Theo groans and flips onto his stomach, clearly not wanting to wake up. I sigh and grab a pair of clothes so I can change into them later.

"Am I helping you or what?" Theo smirks, turning the shower on.

I roll my eyes playfully and walk into the bathroom. My legs are weak yet my body feels so much lighter after giving birth. I rather Theo not see the baby fat, I'm in a dire need to work out.

"Just wait outside the door, I can do it." I smile and take out a bar of soap.

"Okay, holler when you need me. Just remember, I ain't no holla back girl." He winks.

I laugh at his stupid remark, it didn't really make any sense. I quickly wash my body and throw my short hair into a pony tail so its out of my face. After getting dressed into a big shirt and sweats, I return to Theo holding Luna in his chair.

"I just changed her diaper, friends are here to visit but she needs to be fed first." He smiles.

I had completely forgot that I decided to breast feed my daughter, formula will be used if I forget to pump or if we are in a hurry.

"Of course. Listen, I'm going to be horrible at this." I lay on the bed and pull my shirt up.

Theo chuckles and hands me Luna, who actually has her eyes open. They are blue as the sky, yet all baby's eyes are when they are first born.

I lead her to my breast, where at first nothing happen yet eventually she latched on. I've never experienced this so it was kind of strange.

"Is there such thing as breast milk ice cream?" Theo blurts out.

I look at him dumbfounded and respond, "Sometimes I worry about you."

Theo shrugs and returns to his phone while Luna finally finishes eating. I lay a burp cloth on my shoulder and pat her back gently so she can burp. Soon enough, she lets out a little burp and I bring her into my arms.

"Hello baby girl! I'm your mommy." I kiss her forehead.

Luna stares at me and Theo leans over my shoulder, joining us.

"That's your silly daddy, we love you." I fix her hat.

Luna looks at us both and all of sudden, she smiles. Of course she has no teeth but it was cute seeing her tiny little mouth grinning.

"So cute." Theo whispers, kissing my cheek.

At this moment, we are finally a family. No matter how old I am, I'm proud to have a child of my own and blessed that it was with Theo.

We all love each other and no one can take that away.
