Chanize POV

Keeping my head low, I walked down the in the lane,

Here it goes again.

"Some gal smell like the bottom a the barrel!" Keisha voice roared on top, singing a familiar song,
"Some gyal raw like Helshire seaweed..."

Funny how she has so much confidence now, a few months ago, My grandmother told me that she was returning home from market, when a strange man went by her house, scandaling her about her private area smelling fishy, I was at work so ofcourse I missed all the excitement. But it is real funny now, listening to her sing a song she has no business singing,

Pussy goodly stink like rubbish truck

Oh my God, I can't believe that I... this is not me, that's not who I am.

"Watch her bloodclaat to nuh... feel like she a summady," I heard Keisha laughed, and her friends did too.

"Bill... such man soon pass back, and ya fi look you best," One of her friends hyped her up,

Who is such man?

The only way this ago stop, is by me confronting them once and for all... or me me move... and me na go move.

I didn't give in to them though, I know that is what they wanted so they can a reason to gang up on me.

letting out a sigh of relief, I began to hum as I walked towards Ms. Mavis shop. Soon I will be home, I want to take the longest shower ever, I am sure Mama cooked my favorite, curry chicken with dumpling, after that I can relax in my bed, and...

"Chanize!" a familiar voice called out, "Come here mon,"

"Ms. Mavis," I whispered, looking across over at the shop,

that's strange, I thought... what could she need?

Hurrying towards the board structure, I marched up the mini-steps,

"Good evening..." I paused, Dwayne.

He was standing in the far corner, with his back pressed against the enclosure. Looking over my shoulders, I pressed my lips together when i realized that my mouth was partially opened from shocked.

Did he walk here? I thought

Maybe that's why I am so surprised, not seeing his car out front, and then him being in here by himself... lost in his phone.

"Uhmm" I cleared my throat, "What did you need Ms. Mavis?"

"You grandmother and you cousin did a pass earlier," Ms. Mavis opened the serving window,

"Them left this fi you," she handed me a set of keys, with a familiar fur ball keychain attached to it... it was my set of the house keys.

"What?" I slowly took it from her, "They are gone?"

"Hmm... Hortense say you must call her soon as you collect it," Ms. Mavis stared down at the keys.

Saying nothing, I dipped my hand into my handbag, my eyes travelled up at where Dwayne was, I almost forgot that he was standing there, and he didn't acknowledge my presence either,

"Uhmm, excuse me," I quickly looked away, making eye contact with Ms. Mavis,

"Me ago call them and find out what happened," I stepped outside,.

Bringing the phone to me ears, I shook my leg impatiently, as I listen to the ringing on the other end of the line,

"Hello?" I heard my grandmother's sweet, chirpy voice,
