chapter two ♡

   It has been thirty minutes. Tong Yao and Luo Mei are in her room talking.
Tong Yao- ...Why is Chocolate Chip named Chocolate Chip?
Luo Mei- Oh. I got him in middle school.
Tong Yao- Did Lu Yue get you him?
Luo Mei- It was a early birthday present from--
Tong Yao- From Lu Yue?
Luo Mei- Also my brother. They both insisted on getting me a present together.
Tong Yao- Who's idea was it to get you a cat?
Luo Mei- Lu Yue.
Tong Yao- So you and Lu Yue share custody of Chocolate Chip?
Luo Mei- Not much anymore. He didn't even acknowledge he's here.
   They don't know it but Lu Yue came back a few minutes ago and he's outside Tong Yao's room. He has his ear to the door. He started listening when they started talking about Chocolate Chip.
Luo Mei- Tong Yao, why are you all being so nice to me? Shouldn't you be on Lu Yue's side. I'm the one that broke up with him.
Tong Yao- Did you want to break up with him?
Luo Mei- No. It was the biggest regret I ever made. I don't think it matters to him. Maybe I shouldn't have come back.
Tong Yao- You're already here. Don't worry. He will come around. He can't stay mad at you forever.
Luo Mei- He's never been mad at me. I don't want him to be.
   Outside Lu Yue is thinking: "I missed her voice so much." and then walks off to his room.
Tong Yao- I have plans with my best friend JinYang tomorrow. You have to come. I don't want you here moping about Lu Yue.
Luo Mei- I wasn't going to mope about him.
In that moment someone knocks on the door.
Xiao Pang- Luo Mei.
Luo Mei- (she gets up off the bed) Yeah.
Tong Yao- Pang, you can open the door.
Xiao Pang- Okay. (he opens the door)
Luo Mei- (she walks to the door way) What is it?
Xiao Pang- Brother Rui and Brother Cheng want to talk to you.
Luo Mei- Okay.
Xiao Pang- Oh, I saw Lu Yue walk away from your door.
Tong Yao- (she's standing next to Luo Mei) What?
Luo Mei- He did?
Xiao Pang- I think he might have been listening in on your conversation.
Luo Mei- (she walks out and passed Pang) Where is he?
Xiao Pang- He probably went to his room.
Luo Mei- He came back from his walk.
Xiao Pang- I guess so. Luo Mei--
Luo Mei- I'm leaving.
   She walks down stairs and to where Lu SiCheng and Xiao Rui are.
Xiao Rui- Oh, good. You came.
Luo Mei- Yes.
Xiao Rui- Come and sit.
   She goes and sits down. Her, Xiao Rui and Lu SiCheng talk about her Jungler back up position.
Then Lu SiCheng mentions Lu Yue to Luo Mei.
Lu SiCheng- Has Lu Yue talked to you since--
Luo Mei- Does everyone know what happened? And why does everyone keep on being so nice to me?
Lu SiCheng- I told them to.
Luo Mei- Why? I don't deserve it.
Xiao Rui- Don't say that.
Luo Mei- But it's true. You should be on Lu Yue's side. I broke up with him.
Lu SiCheng- Luo Mei, you know I know the real reason you broke up with him. If he knew the real reason--
Luo Mei- It hurts knowing I hurt him.
Xiao Rui- Brother Cheng informed of the truth. Do you know Lu Yue got into a fight two years ago?
Luo Mei- What? No. I focused on my dancing. I never went on social media much. What happened?
They informed her of what happened.
Xiao Rui- That was hard on him too.
Luo Mei- I would of been on his side too. I saw all the hate Tong Yao got. I never believed because it's not true. And I saw when (looks to Lu SiCheng) you and Tong Yao confirmed your relationship.
Lu SiCheng- Now we're married.
Luo Mei- I missed it. It's good you didn't invite me.
Lu SiCheng- Sorry about that.
Luo Mei- Don't be. Lu Yue's feelings matter. He wouldn't of liked it.
That's when Tong Yao joins them.
Luo Mei- Brother Cheng, I really don't deserve all this niceness.
Xiao Rui- Luo Mei, don't say that.
Luo Mei- It's true. I don't want you all being nice to me knowing you should be on Lu Yue's side.
Xiao Rui- We aren't on anyone's side.
Lu SiCheng- I can have everyone cut it back a little.
Luo Mei- Please.
Yu Ming takes a seat next to Luo Mei.
God Ming- Luo Mei?
Luo Mei- Yes.
God Ming- I'm worried about Lu Yue. He's been acting cold.
Luo Mei- You're saying it's my fault?
God Ming- No. --
Luo Mei- But it is my fault.
He tells her all of what Lu Yue said to him.
God Ming-..."I wish she stayed where she was. I'm glad she went aboard to become a ballerina. It's always been her dream."
Luo Mei- Oh.
God Ming- I've never seen him cold like this. Which is why I don't think he means what he said. He's probably just overwhelmed by your returning.
Luo Mei- I don't blame him.
Lu SiCheng- I'll have a serious talk with him.
Luo Mei- No! Don't. As Tong Yao said; he will come around. We just need to give him some time. The break up was hard on him too. I don't want anyone talking to him about it.
   Right after God Ming entered the room to talk to Luo Mei, Lu Yue started to over hear the conversation. So he heard the part where Luo Mei doesn't want everyone to be so nice to her.
Lu Yue- (he says in his head) I didn't mean it. I just want to know the real reason she broke up with me and if she really regrets it so much why did she do it.
Someone walks up behind him.
Xiao Pang- Lu Yue, what are you doing? (he's eating something)
That makes Lu Yue jump.
Lu Yue- (he turns around) Pang, why did you do that?!
Xiao Pang- Sorry. So what's so interesting? (he eats some more of his snack) Huh?
Lu Yue- Nothing.
Xiao Pang- Listening to them talking to Luo Mei?
Lu Yue- (he turns his head) No.
   Everyone walks out of the meeting room and they all see Lu Yue and Xiao Pang.
Xiao Pang- (he looks up) Luo Mei.
Lu Yue- Huh? (he looks up)
They lock eyes on each other and then Lu Yue walks away.
Luo Mei- Pang?
Xiao Pang- Yeah. (he eyes go wide)
Luo Mei- What was Lu Yue doing?
Xiao Pang- He was listening in what you were talking about.
Luo Mei- What?
   She walks off as well. She sees Lu Yue sitting on the sofa while on his phone. She walks up closer.
Luo Mei- I'm thinking about staying somewhere else then here. I don't deserve how everyone's treating me. I might even go back to France. Just say it and I won't go. We used to never keep things from each other. How does it feel keeping things from me now?
Lu Yue- (he turns around & looks up at her) What's that supposed to mean? You think I'm keeping something from you?
Luo Mei- That's not what I meant. God Ming told me he doesn't think you mean what you said about me being here.
Lu Yue- (he turns back around) I don't care. Go back to France. Be a pretty ballerina. I don't even want you here.
He gets up and walks off. Luo Mei kind of yells back.
Luo Mei- Fine, then. I will be going back to France in a few days.
Yu Ming is there and heard the last half of their conversation.
God Ming- Luo Mei. Are you okay?
Luo Mei- I'm fine. There's no need to worry about me. Please, I don't need special treatment.
God Ming- Did you mean a lot to Lu Yue?
Luo Mei- Yes. (she turns around) We used to be inseparable, even after we started dating. I miss it.
God Ming- He said "pretty ballerina."
Luo Mei- (says kind of under her breath but he hears) He's pretty... I don't know if I believe what you said.
God Ming- Huh?
Luo Mei- He doesn't mean what he said about my returning.
God Ming- I thought you two used to be inseparable.
Luo Mei- We were.
God Ming- You can't clearly seen that he doesn't mean what he says.
Luo Mei- If that's true. He knows he can tell me about it. He's being stubborn.
God Ming- Just wait until he's ready to talk to you about it.
Luo Mei- How long will that be? He may be too late. I've already decided to go back to France. In a few days.
In that moment she walks off.
