chapter eight ♡

Luo Mei, Lu Yue, and God Ming have made it back to the mansion. The driver has just pulled up. Luo Mei wants her and Lu Yue to spend the day together but doesn't want God Ming to feel like a third wheel.
Luo Mei- Baby boy.
Lu Yue- Baby, what is it you want?
Luo Mei- (she sets up to talk Yu Ming) God Ming?
God Ming- Yes.
Luo Mei- Yue Yue and I are going in the city to catch up. You can make up something to tell anyone.
She sits back. She can feel Lu Yue put his hand on her leg. She picks it up and puts her hand in it.
Luo Mei- I want to spend the day with my baby boy.
God Ming- Okay. I'm leaving, then.
Yu Ming gets out of the cab and Lu Yue and Luo Mei stay in.
Lu Yue- Where did you want to go?
Luo Mei- Where ever you want.
Lu Yue- Really?
Luo Mei- Yes.
He tells her where he wants to go and they tell the cab driver and drives off.
Lu Yue- Have you ever considered my mother as a second mother? (he strokes her hand)
Luo Mei- Not really.
Lu Yue- I'm okay with that. Given how my mother is sometimes. I have with your mother.
Luo Mei- My mother loves you.
Lu Yue- Does she know you're back?
Luo Mei- No. She would have no choice to tell my father.
Lu Yue- Then you probably wouldn't be able to stay this long.
Luo Mei- That's why I didn't tell my family. They won't let me be with you, so what's the point of telling.
Lu Yue- I'm sure God Ming will let you be with me.
Luo Mei- What about everyone else?
Lu Yue- They treat you like family, of course.
Luo Mei- I don't want them to know about us. I still feel guilty about what I did to you.
Lu Yue- I thought I told you not to. There's no need to.

Soon they get to the place where they wanted to go. It's the mall and they out to walk in.
Luo Mei- (holds onto Lu Yue's hand) What do you want to do first?
Lu Yue- Eat.
Luo Mei- Okay. Let's go.
They go and eat. After that they catch a movie together. Then walk around the mall and talk.
Lu Yue- Mei Mei, stay right here. I'll be right back. (he let's go of her hand)
Luo Mei- Okay. I'll wait for you.
He kisses her on the side of the head and walks off to the restroom. Luo Mei waits for him. Someone they know walks up to her.
Hao Ling- Luo Mei?
Luo Mei- Huh? (she looks where he is)
Hao Ling- When did you get back?
Luo Mei- I... I've been here a few weeks now.
Hao Ling- Does Lu Yue know?
Luo Mei- Yes.
Hao Ling- How have you been?
Luo Mei- I've been okay.
Hao Ling- We should catch up sometime.
Luo Mei- I don't know. We were never close. What's there to catch up?
Hao Ling- We were friends once but you pulled me aside because Lu Yue was the shining new thing you wanted to play with.
Luo Mei- You're still not over that? That happened so long ago. We were kids. You can't move on from that?
Hao Ling- I asked you out in high school but you turned me down. Was it because of Lu Yue?
Luo Mei- I told you I didn't want a boyfriend. It had nothing to do with Lu Yue.
He walks up to her and puts his hand on her waist.
Hao Ling- How about now?
Luo Mei- Let me go.
Lu Yue comes out of the restroom and sees what's going on. He's not happy with it and walks over.
Lu Yue- Hao Ling.
Hao Ling- Hello Lu Yue.
Luo Mei- (pulls Hao Ling away from her) Don't ever touch me!
Hao Ling tries to touch Luo Mei again but Lu Yue walks in front of her.
Lu Yue- What's your problem? She said not to touch her.
Hao Ling- Why are you getting so protective?
Lu Yue- (he tries to hide that his stomach hurts) Someone should. If not her brother, than me. Please, don't be like this. We're not kids anymore.
Luo Mei- (walks out next Lu Yue) Lu Yue, it's okay.
Hao Ling- Okay. Then, I'm leaving. It was nice seeing you, Luo Mei. Bye-Bye.
He leaves. Lu Yue turns to look at Luo Mei.
Lu Yue- Are you okay?
Luo Mei- I'm fine. What about you? (she puts her hand on his cheek)
Lu Yue- What do you mean? You mean my stomach?
Luo Mei- It hurts, right?
Lu Yue- I'm sorry. I ate too much.
Luo Mei- Its okay. How about we go home.
Lu Yue- Okay.
Before they leave Luo Mei rubs her hands together and puts one on his stomach. He puts his hand on hers.
Lu Yue- Don't move it. It's making my stomach feel better.
Luo Mei- Okay, but I need to call a cab.
Lu Yue- You can do that with one hand.
Luo Mei- My baby boy. (she smiles)
Lu Yue- Don't call me that unless you want something. It tips me off.
Luo Mei- You're being really cute. I couldn't resist. I'm sorry.
Lu Yue- It's okay. (he smiles at her)
After that Luo Mei uses her other hand to call a cab. Then she hangs up. She tries to move her hand from his stomach but he stops her.
Luo Mei- I can't walk with my hand on your stomach.
Lu Yue- (he moves her hand & holds it) You can warm my stomach when we get in the cab?
Luo Mei- I can, baby.
Lu Yue- Let's go home.
Luo Mei- Mhmm.
They walk off and walk out the mall. They only had to wait a little for the cab. They get in and Lu Yue lays his head on Luo Mei. She rubs her hands together again to warm them and puts one on Lu Yue's stomach. He puts his hand on it.
After that the cab driver drives off. They head back to the mansion. They get out when get there and the cab drives off.
Luo Mei- Lu Yue, how are you feeling. (she steps on her toes & touches his forehead) You're a little hot.
Lu Yue- If I got sick will you take care of me?
Luo Mei- Yes. Let's go inside.
She walks towards the door but she's stopped. She feels Lu Yue's arms around her. She puts her hands on his arms.
Lu Yue- I'm sorry I ruined our day.
Luo Mei- What are you talking about? You didn't ruin it.
Lu Yue- My stomach still hurts.
Luo Mei- You need to go in and lay down. I'll bring you hot water and stomach medicine.
Lu Yue- Okay. Don't leave me when you do.
Luo Mei- I'll stay. Let's go in.
Lu Yue- I don't want to move. It feels nice with you in my arms.
Luo Mei- Does your stomach still hurt?
Lu Yue- Yes.
Luo Mei- (she pulls away from him) You need to go lay down. Okay?
Lu Yue- Okay, princess.
She turns around and looks up at him.
Lu Yue- Hi. (he smiles at her)
Luo Mei- It's been a long since you called me that.
Lu Yue- (he puts his hand on her waist) Princess.
Luo Mei- (she moves his hand from her waist) Hey, you're just calling me that because you want me in your arms. You know what it does to me when you call me that.
Lu Yue- Prin-- (she puts her hand on his mouth)
Luo Mei- Stop. We're going inside. Now.
They walk inside. They kind of make noise when they walk in. It gets everyone's attention.
God Ming- You're back.
Xiao Rui- What's wrong with Lu Yue?
Luo Mei- He got a stomach ache. I checked his forehead. He's a little hot so he might be sick.
Lu Yue- (he whispers in her ear) When you say I'm a little hot it gives me goosebumps.
Luo Mei- Go lay down.
Lu Yue- I'm going.
He goes on up to his room.
Luo Mei- Where's the stomach medicine?
Xiao Rui- It's above the refrigerator.
Luo Mei- Thank you.
She walks over to the kitchen. She goes to the refrigerator. She steps on her toes to open the cabinet door. She reaches for the medicine box but someone gets it for her.
Luo Mei- Brother Cheng, I could of gotten it.
Lu SiCheng- You're short like Tong Yao.
Luo Mei- I can't help that.
She gets the stomach medicine out of the medicine box. Then gets a mug of hot water.
Lu SiCheng- You're back with my brother?
She doesn't answer him and walks off. She walks up to Lu Yue's room. It's opened a little. She knocks and walks in.
Luo Mei sees Lu Yue sleeping with Chocolate Chip in his arms. She walks over. She sets the mug of hot water and the stomach medicine on the bedside table. Then she sits down on the bed. She touches Lu Yue's forehead.
Luo Mei- He is sick. Lu Yue. Yue Yue, you need to wake up to take the medicine.
Lu Yue- (he opens his eyes) Hello beautiful.
Luo Mei- (she smiles) Handsome.
Lu Yue- I'm still handsome while I'm sick?
Luo Mei- Of course.
She moves up closer to him and grabs the mug of hot water and the stomach medicine.
Luo Mei- Here. Sit up so you can take this.
Lu Yue- Okay.
He sits up and takes the stomach medicine with the hot water.
Luo Mei- Drink some more.
Lu Yue- Okay, princess.
He drinks the rest of the hot water and hands it back to Luo Mei so she can set it back on the bedside table.
Lu Yue- (he reaches his hand out & touches her leg) I never told you how beautiful you look today.
Luo Mei- (she touches his hand) You don't think I'm over dressed? My dress isn't too tight or too short?
Lu Yue- No. It looks prefect on you. I noticed your style changed since you've been gone. You used to dress similar to me.
Luo Mei- Is that bad?
Lu Yue- No. I love it.
Luo Mei- I still dress similar to you, it's just a bit different.
Lu Yue- Yes. You picked that up while you were in France?
Luo Mei- Yes.
Lu Yue- Mei Mei?
Luo Mei- Yes, Yue Yue. (she smiles at him)
Lu Yue- What did Hao Ling say to you while I was in the restroom?
Luo Mei- Oh. He wanted to know when I got back. I told him I've been back a few weeks now. He asked if you know and I said yes. Then he asked how I've been. I respond with I've been okay.
Lu Yue- There's more, right?
Luo Mei- Yeah.
Lu Yue- Go on.
Luo Mei- Um.. He told me we should catch up sometime. I told him I don't know. We were never close. What's there to catch up?
Lu Yue- What did he say to that?
Luo Mei- "We were friends once but you pulled me aside because Lu Yue was the shining new thing you wanted to play with."
Lu Yue- I'm shining.
Luo Mei- (she laughs) Yes.
Lu Yue- What did you say to that?
Luo Mei- "You're still not over that? That happened a long time ago. We were kids. You can't move on from that?" He had to remind me that I turned him down in high school when he asked me out. And he also said was it because of Lu Yue?
Lu Yue- Was it?
Luo Mei- Yes. Basically. That was the same time you confessed your love to me and the same time I realized I was in love with you but I was trying to push it away because I knew we could never be together.
He knows this story but he loves to hear it again.
Luo Mei- Yang Lian persuaded me to follow my heart. So what if we have to be a secret. Don't push Lu Yue away before it's too late. After all the heart wants what the heart wants.
Lu Yue- I love hearing this again.
Luo Mei- She said I would regret it if I push you away. It was hurting how I was pushing you away. Choosing to be with you was the best thing I ever did.
Lu Yue- I would have waited as long as it took. I was waiting my whole life.
Luo Mei- I'm sorry.
Lu Yue- Why are you saying sorry?
Luo Mei- For making you wait. I should have told you I was crushing on you.
Lu Yue- Baby, it's okay. I didn't mind waiting because it was worth it. I still got you in the end, right?
Luo Mei- Yes. I lied to Hao Ling again. I told him that I didn't want a boyfriend. It had nothing to do with Lu Yue.
Lu Yue- I saw and heard the rest. Do you feel bad for lying to him? You weren't talking to me.
Luo Mei- I know. No, I don't care that I lied to him.
Lu Yue- Good.
Luo Mei- Baby, how are you feeling? (she leans into him & touches his forehead) You're still hot.
In that moment he holds her down on the bed.
Luo Mei- Lu Yue.
Lu Yue- Why did you say I'm still hot?
Luo Mei- Because you're burning up.
He presses his body on her.
Luo Mei- Is that making your stomach feel better?
Lu Yue- Yeah. Your body is warm.
Luo Mei- Baby boy.
Lu Yue- What is it you want?
Luo Mei- You still have me pinned.
Lu Yue- Oh, sorry.
Luo Mei- Wait, I change my mind. Just slide your hands in mine.
Lu Yue- Okay. That's what you want?
Luo Mei- Yes, yes.
Right after he slides his hands in hers to hold them, the door opens. Pang sees how Lu Yue and Luo Mei are laying on the bed and his eyes go really big.
Xiao Pang- (talks in his head) No! Now Lu Yue and Luo Mei?! Why did I have to see this?
He drops his snack and they both look at him with wide eyes.
Xiao Pang- You blind my eyes.
Lu Yue let's go of Luo Mei's hands and gets off her. He goes back to where he was before he was on top of her. Luo Mei sets up.
Lu Yue- Pang, you didn't see anything.
Xiao Pang- Didn't see anything?
Luo Mei- Pang, it's not what it looks like. Lu Yue's stomach hurts so...
Xiao Pang- Not what it looks like? But the way the two of you were laying on the bed.
The interruption kind of overwhelmed Luo Mei and she doesn't know what to do. Lu Yue can see it.
Lu Yue- Pang, we weren't doing anything.
Luo Mei- (she stands up & slips in her slippers) I'm leaving.
Lu Yue- What?
Luo Mei walks towards the door and walks out.
Lu Yue- (he gets up off the bed) Pang, see what you did.
Xiao Pang- I'm sorry.
Lu Yue- (he walks out & catches up with Luo Mei) Luo Mei-- (he stops because of his stomach)
Luo Mei- (she stops & turns around) Lu Yue, what are you doing? You shouldn't be up.
Lu Yue- What are you doing? I know the interruption kind of overwhelmed you but you didn't have to leave.
Xiao Pang- (he walks up to them & talks to Luo Mei) Luo Mei, I'm sorry. I didn't see anything. I'm leaving. (he leaves)
Luo Mei- (looks to Lu Yue) Lu Yue, go lay down.
Lu Yue- Come with me.
Luo Mei- Okay.
They go back to his room. Luo Mei watches Lu Yue get into his bed. Then she sits down on the bed.
Luo Mei- Good boy.
She leans into him and touches his forehead and cheeks.
Lu Yue- I'm still hot?
Luo Mei- Mhmm. But I wasn't checking. I just wanted to touch your face. (she can sense he wants to kiss her because the way he's looking at her) Lu Yue, not now.
Lu Yue- Then can I do this?
He kisses down her cheek, across her nose to her other cheek, across her forehead. He kisses all over her face except her lips. It makes her giggle.
Luo Mei- Cutie.
Lu Yue- (he stops kissing her face because of his stomach) I'm sorry.
Luo Mei- It's okay. How about you lay down and sleep for a little while. Later I'll make you porridge.
Lu Yue- Okay. (he grabs her hand) You're staying, right?
Luo Mei- Yes. Sleep.
Lu Yue lays down and closes his eyes. Once he's fallen asleep she moves closer to him and lays her head on his chest.
