chapter seventeen ♡

They're back at the mansion now. Luo Mei is upstairs in her room resting. She soon wakes up thinking she needs to tell Lu Yue that she's in so much pain. It's hurting even more now keeping it from him for her.
She reaches out for her phone. She calls Lu Yue's number. He answers and when she talks her voice breaks.
Lu Yue- Mei Mei.
Luo Mei- Lu Yue, I can't keep it from you anymore. It's hurting too much.
Lu Yue- What? You're not making any sense. What's wrong?
Luo Mei- I need to tell you. I can't take it anymore.
He hangs up and rushes to her room. He climbs on her bed and goes close to her. He sees she's crying.
Lu Yue- What is it? You're keeping something from me?
Luo Mei- Because I was afraid how you were going to act.
Lu Yue- Well, what is it?
Luo Mei- You're not going to like it. I've been in so much pain since the accident.
Lu Yue- What?! But... (he starts shaking a little) But... Y-you said you weren't... (his eyes go a little red) in so m-much pain.
Luo Mei- I said that because of this. It scars me when you act like this. (tears are coming down her cheeks) Are you mad at me?
Lu Yue- No. I understand why you kept it from me. I should have known. And I put weight on you. How stupid can I be? (tears start to come down his cheeks)
Luo Mei- No. Yue Yue, you're not stupid. It's my fault.
Lu Yue- No, it's my fault. If I didn't act the way I do when you're in pain like this you would be able to tell me sooner.
He gets up and starts to walk towards the door.
Luo Mei- Wait. Lu Yue, where are you going?
He doesn't say anything and then she says something again.
Luo Mei- Is this it? Are you breaking up with me?
That makes him turn around.
Lu Yue- No. I just need to be alone right now.
Luo Mei- Then, can you come kiss me, baby boy?
He walks out after she says that.
Luo Mei- (she yells) Lu Yue?! (she tries to get up off the bed & she ends up falling) Ughh. Lu Yue! (she's crying) Lu Yue! Lu Yue! LU YUE!
God Ming heard her and walks in. He sees she's fallen on the floor and she's in tears.
God Ming- Luo Mei.
Luo Mei- Can you take me to Lu Yue?
God Ming- I don't know...
Luo Mei- God Ming! Take me to him!
He goes to help her up. She holds onto his arms.
Luo Mei- He's pushing me away because I'm in pain. I knew he would act like his. But I just couldn't keep it from him any longer.
He puts her arm around his shoulder, and then he walks her to Lu Yue's room. God Ming has her hold on tight to him.
Luo Mei- Lu Yue, I'm not letting you push me away. Don't you know how I would feel? I need you the most right now.
Lu Yue isn't answering her. She looks at God Ming.
Luo Mei- I know how I can get him to answer me.
God Ming- Go on then.
Luo Mei- (looks to Lu Yue) You're not handsome when you act like this.
Lu Yue- (he looks up) What?
Luo Mei- You're not even being cute right now.
Lu Yue- Say that all again. (he starts to get up)
Luo Mei- You're not handsome when you act like this and you're not even being cute right now.
Lu Yue- You better take it back. (he starts to walk to her)
Luo Mei- Mmm... I don't know if I should.
Lu Yue- (he's a lot closer to her & she's looking up at him) Take it back. Now.
Luo Mei- Mmm? Let me think. I'll take it back if you kiss me.
Lu Yue- Ughhhhhhh, you know I love it when you tease me. How can I resist?
He leans his head down to kiss her. She gets go of God Ming and puts her hands on Lu Yue's cheeks. Lu Yue instantly holds Luo Mei and he lifts her up a little.
God Ming kind of smiles at them. Luo Mei pulls away from Lu Yue's lips and puts her forehead to his.
Luo Mei- I take it back. I just wanted to get you to answer me. I don't want you to be alone by yourself. I want you to be alone with me.
Lu Yue- But...
Luo Mei- (she looks back at him) Don't you dare.
Lu Yue- I can't. You'll never heal if I'm around you.
Luo Mei- What?! So your going to stay away from me until I'm healed?
Lu Yue- Yes. I can't be the cause of you not healing.
Luo Mei- So are you saying we're going to have a long distance relationship?
Lu Yue- Yes.
He moves her hands and has her hold onto God Ming. She uses one of her hands to hold onto Lu Yue's arm. Her hand slides down to his hand and she holds on tight to it.
Luo Mei- (she looks at him) Just one last time? Please, baby boy. I'll say you're not---
Lu Yue- Don't you dare say it. I'll kiss you.
He goes to kiss her and she moves her hand in his hair. He then pulls away and she still has her hand in his hair.
Lu Yue- I want you to get some rest so you can heal.
Luo Mei- Without you.
Lu Yue- Don't make that face. When this is all over you can be in my arms as much as you want.
Luo Mei- I'll only get to hear your voice. I want both.
Lu Yue- Baby, you're still in so much pain. I don't want to be the cause of you not healing.
Luo Mei- Stop saying that. (she moves her hand to set on his cheek)
Lu Yue- (takes her hand) I want my baby girl to get some rest.
Luo Mei- But...
Lu Yue- You need rest.
God Ming- Lu Yue, you know she fell again?
Luo Mei- I was going to tell him.
Lu Yue- What?
Luo Mei- It was right after you left my room. You didn't hear me calling you.
Lu Yue- I did. I just couldn't...
Luo Mei- Because since I'm in pain you won't touch me. Your touch is the most thing I need when I'm in pain.
Lu Yue- Baby, you shouldn't be out of bed like this.
He gives her to God Ming so she can hold onto him for support.
Luo Mei- Yue Yue, I love you. (Lu Yue goes to kiss her on the forehead)
God Ming puts her arm around his shoulder so he can walk her to her room.
Luo Mei- (she reaches out her hand to Lu Yue) Baby boy. Baby boy.
Lu Yue- Get some rest, okay?
God Ming walks her out and to her room.
Luo Mei- God Ming?
God Ming- What is it?
Luo Mei- Forget it.
God Ming- You want Lu Yue with you.
Luo Mei- If this is his choose. I don't want to force him.
God Ming- I know he's pushing you away because you're in so much pain but I can see that he wants to be with you.
Luo Mei- He hates it when I'm in pain so since I'm in so much pain he's pushing me away like this.
He helps her on her bed and then leaves her there to get some rest.
It's the next week. Luo Mei can't go to the game match with them. Everyone helped to take care of Luo Mei but Lu Yue kept his distance from her and would only talk to her over video chat.
God Ming comes in Luo Mei's room to check on her before they have to go to the game match. They're playing against CK at the match.
God Ming- Luo Mei, how are you feeling?
Luo Mei- God Ming. Talking to Lu Yue over video chat isn't enough. I need his touch. It would be nice if he could...
God Ming- He could what?
Luo Mei- Forget it. It would be weird to say it in front of you. Can you tell them I said good luck? I know they'll win.
God Ming- Okay.
Luo Mei- Also one other thing.
God Ming- You want to give Lu Yue a message?
Luo Mei- Yes. Tell him... He's not being cute right now. I want him to be rattled up when he calls me.
God Ming- You both act like two children in love.
Luo Mei- We best friends in love.
God Ming- Yeah. Get some rest. I'm leaving.
He walks out and walks back downstairs. Everyone's walking outside. He goes out too. Lu Yue is already on the bus when he gets on, and walks up to him.
God Ming- (he kind of whispers to Lu Yue) Lu Yue, Luo Mei wants me to give you a message.
Lu Yue- What is it? What does my Mei Mei say?
God Ming- She told me to tell you that you're not being cute right now.
Lu Yue- Ughh. She's going to regret she said that.
God Ming- She said she wanted you to be rattled when you call her.
Lu Yue- Now, I will be.
God Ming- (he says low to Lu Yue) You both act such like two children in love.
Lu Yue- We best friends in love.
God Ming- Man, you two still consider yourselfs still best friends. Luo Mei said the same thing.
Lu Yue- She knows it to be true. We are best friends and always will be. Nothing can change that.
God Ming sits down in his seat and they soon head to the match.
Later, after the first game round; they're on break, Lu Yue goes somewhere private to video chat Luo Mei. (By the way they won the first round.) He pushes video chat on Luo Mei's caller ID and she answers. He's sitting down on the stairs.
Luo Mei- Yue Yue.
Lu Yue- How dare you say I'm not being cute.
Luo Mei- It worked! You're all rattled up.
Lu Yue- You know I would be. Take it back.
Luo Mei- Ah-huh.
Lu Yue- I told God Ming that you're going to regret saying that.
Luo Mei- Ooh, I'm so scared. You're being so cute! I just wish...
Lu Yue- No. I can't be around you. I've already put too much weight on you.
Luo Mei- Lu Yue, it wasn't that much.
Lu Yue- Yes, it was. I can't risk being around you because I'll put more on you.
Luo Mei- You're saying I'm irresistible?
Lu Yue- Get some more rest. I should go.
Luo Mei- Lu Yue?!
He hangs up on her. God Ming is now standing there.
God Ming- Why must you resist her? I know you want to be with her despite the pain she's in.
Lu Yue- (he starts to get up) I do. But if I stay away from her she might heal faster.
God Ming- You know she's not some fragile thing and if you touch her she'll break? You know she's strong.
Lu Yue- Yes, I know. I love that about her. Just seeing her in pain like this puts me in pain and I can't. I'll risk putting more weight on her and I just can't. I've already put too much weight on her. I can't risk more. Its not good for her ribs.
God Ming- She told me before we left that it would be really nice if you could do something for her but she didn't say what it was because she thought it would be weird to say it in front of me.
Lu Yue- I could probably guess what she wants.
God Ming- She also told me that talking to you over video chat isn't enough and she needs your touch.
Lu Yue- Well, I'm going back.
He walks passed God Ming and walks to the room they use when they go to game matches. He sits down on the sofa and puts his leg up. After that God Ming walks in.
Xiao Rui- Is Lu Yue okay? I mean, I know his best friend is in pain but he's starting to seem different.
Old Cat- He doesn't even talk to her or even see her.
Old K- He must really hate that she's in pain.
God Ming- He does. But he does talk to her. Just not face to face.
Tong Yao- He should be by her side through all this.
God Ming- Yes, I agree.
Tong Yao- He's being stubborn.
God Ming- We shouldn't force him.
Over where Lu Yue is. His phone keeps on going off. Luo Mei keeps on sending him messages. "Baby boy, you didn't need to hang up on me." "I didn't want you to."
He reads them but doesn't respond yet. "I don't want more rest." "I want you." "I want to talk to you more." "I want to hear your voice." "Fine. Don't respond to me." "But you know how I can get you to respond." "You're being a bad boy right now and it's not making you handsome." He response when he reads that one.
Lu Yue- How dare you? I'm handsome. And I'm not being bad.
Luo Mei- Yes. You're being very bad right now. You hung up on me. There's no way you're being cute right now.
Lu Yue- Say that again.
Luo Mei- There's no way you're being cute right now.
Lu Yue- You're going to regret you ever said that.
Luo Mei- Ooh, what's handsome going to do to me?
Lu Yue gets up, goans, and walks out. They all looked when he did that. He goes somewhere private again and sits down on the stairs. He video chats Luo Mei again.
Luo Mei- You're all rattled up now?
Lu Yue- Yes. Stop it. You're making want to be with you even more.
Luo Mei- What?
Lu Yue- When you tease me it makes me want to be with you even more.
Luo Mei- I want you. I want you to sleep next---
Yu Ming walks in and says something.
God Ming- The game is about to start.
Lu Yue- I'll be there. Fill me in once I walk in.
God Ming- Okay.
Luo Mei- Lu Yue, I want you to sleep next to me tonight.
God Ming leaves and Lu Yue continues to talk to Luo Mei.
Lu Yue- Say more.
Luo Mei- But...
Lu Yue- It's okay. Go ahead.
Luo Mei- Do you know what I almost told God Ming? What would be really nice that you could do.
Lu Yue- I know it has something to do with my touch.
Luo Mei- Handsome better do it before I heal. It will feel really nice on my ribs.
Lu Yue- But—
Luo Mei- Lu Yue, no excuses!
Lu Yue- Baby, get some rest. I'm going to go.
He hangs up before she can say anything.
