PROLOGUE
The teacher handed us our papers back, our marks on the sheets in bright red pen. I grinned at the 98% presented in bold letters and rushed to the other side of the room, slamming my page onto the desk of the brunet before me.
"Let's see what you got Gray," I smirked, waiting for the lower grade to appear on his paper in front of me.
But when he showed the 98% also scrawled out on his assessment, I couldn't help but be shocked. This was the first time we had tied together for any assignment.
"Good job Miss Monet and Mr Gray, due to your scores, you will work together on this upcoming at home project. Read the task to find out when it's due."
I was still frozen in place, my jaw dropped, but my hands clenched into fists when I finally took in what she said.
I was not working with Louis Gray.
