Chapter 83: Somewhere Only We Know

"I'm glad I'm okay too." You squeeze him back. He pulls apart and he looks very serious. "What's wrong?" I ask him. "Hey, is that Rogue too tough for even you, Natsu?" Happy asks him.  Natsu scoffs, "Who said that? That guy..." He drifts off and sighs, "Okay, to be honest. he's damn strong. On top of that, the dragon he's riding is a pain in the ass."

You've only had one experience with a dragon and that dragon happened to be Acnologia, so you ask, "Are all dragons that violent? There's a fire one, a rock one... even Zirconis. I almost got eaten back there."

"Eaten, huh?" Natsu raises a brow. He stares at you before cracking a smile and grabbing you, "That's it! I got a great idea! I found a way to beat 'im!" You were still clueless. "Happy, we have to go!"

"Aye!" Happy wraps his tail around Natsu.

"W-Wait! Where are you going?" You ask him before Happy flies him off.

"I can't wait around anymore. I'm going ahead!" He tells you.

"So you're just leaving me?!" You scoff.

"Trust me, y/n!" Natsu tells you before instructing Happy to fly off. You scoff again and cannot believe him. He didn't even explain what he had in mind to do. You notice something in the rumble. "Lucy's notebook?" You wonder. You walk to it and pick it up, crouching down. You've been to Lucy's a lot and you see that notebook on her desk. You open it to a random page.

You're taken aback when you see your handwriting in the notebook. You flip through the pages and figure out it was written by your future self. You begin to run to find Natsu, Jellal, Erza or anyone. You held the journal tightly.

"Guys! Where are you?!" You yell out. You needed to tell them about the journal. As you're scanning the area, something was shot and the rumble you were standing on explodes, causing you to go flying. You crash onto the ground. You feel blood rushing down your nose, so you swipe it off. When you look around, there's tiny dragon creatures surrounding you.

You scurry back onto your feet. They're all charging up some sort of attack. You create a forcefield around you right before it shoots. It was cracking your shield of light, but it managed to hold. You shoot multiple rays of light and strike them, causing them to fall or get sent back. You continue running.

"Jellal!" You scream. "Natsu! Erza!" You were panting very heavily. You couldn't slow down and get surrounded again. When you turn the corner, you see much more of the little dragons. You look behind you and see some appear. They charge at you once more and you create a forcefield again that also barely manages to hold.

A lot more started to appear and you realized this was it. All of them once again charge and you knew you couldn't do anything, but wait for impact.

"Jellal!" You scream. "Nat-!" You stop when you get a vision of something. It seemed like a glimpse from the future. You stop running just as you're about to turn the corner. There's many little dragons there from what you saw, so you turn back and decide to run in a different direction.

You run and make it to where the Eclipse gate stood. There's Lucy, Yukino, Mira, Arcados, and the Princess. "Everyone!" You shout. "Look at this!" You wave around the journal. You stop in front of them, completely out of breath. "What is that?" The Princess asks.

"My journal?" Lucy questions.

"I-It's a journal! Future me wrote in it! Here!" You hand it to Lucy. She reads it out loud, "'If by any chance the portal in this time period is destroyed, the Eclipse portal in the future will cease to exist. As part of a chain reaction, I'll also disappear from existence.'"

"What does that mean?" Arcardios asks.

"It's talking about what will happen if the portal in our time period is destroyed. Then the future will be painted over with a future in which the portal was destroyed. The portal will wink out of existence in the future. If that happens, Rogue won't have any means to come back to our time period." You explain.

"But is it possible to stop what's already happened?" The Princess asks.

"If everything worked out, then both the dragons and Rogue would disappear from our time!" Happy says as he approaches us.

"It's worth a shot!" Carla approves.

"However, there's one big problem. How do we destroy a giant structure like that?" Arcardios asks.

"It won't be an easy job." Lily comments.

"But if Rogue doesn't come from the future, the world should return to its proper history.." You say. "We have to do it. For our future.." You start to think of ideas. You're not sure your magic alone would be sufficient, just closing the gate took a lot out of you. "We'll just have to slam all our magic power into it." You tell them.

"Right! Yukino..." Lucy looks at Yukino and Yukino nods, hopping on board with Lucy. The two of them throw their keys into the sky and they form into a circle. They hold hald, "Open... gate of the 12 keys. Zodiac!" A loud bell sound is heard and the Zodiacs appear surrounding them.

They all fly to the gate and attack it. A huge light is casted, blinding everyone. However once it clears, it's revealed that no damage has been done to the gate.

"I don't believe it! We didn't even make a dent!" Lucy is stunned.

"It's made out of Magnanium alloy, which is highly resistant to magic." Arcardios explains.

You all begin to make an effort into destroying the gate, but it all seemed useless. After a while, you dropped down to your knees completely exhausted. You're sure there's more you can try, but you've already been pushing your limits since the games.

Suddenly there was a light shining from behind you. You turn around and a huge fireball was heading right towards you all. "Get back! Everyone, get away from the portal!" Happy shouts. You stand up and run as far as you could.

The fireball crashes onto the portal, causing a massive explosive, and everyone to go flying. You crash harshly onto the ground. You quickly pick yourself up even though it hurt and look at the portal.

It had been destroyed and from the rumble emerges a Natsu. A dragon had crushed onto the gate. "Natsu!" You say with glee. The dragon's body that had crashed onto the gate begins to glow. The fire dragon flying above the scene also started to glow. "It worked." You mumble. Gold particles were floating around the air.

The journal in your hands begins to glow and it starts to slowly fade from your hands. The dragons also started to disappear. You drop to your knees, "It's over.." You sigh. Raindrops fall onto your hands. You open your eyes and look up at the sky. It's not raining.

You touch your cheeks. You're crying.

There was a light breeze. You slowly open your eyes and you're greeted with a beautiful blue sky. You sit up and you were in a golden field. "Where am I?" You ask yourself. You stand up and begin to search the area.

You were alone, but it was an upgrade from the rumble, red skies, and dragons flying all around. "N/n!" You hear someone call. You stop dead in your tracks. You turn around. The only person who calls you by that nickname is "Jellal!" You exclaim. Jellal is walking towards you and waving. You laugh and start running full speed to him.

You jump and wrap your arms around him, giving him the tightest hug ever. He chuckles and squeezes you just as tightly before letting you go.

"Wha- Where am I? I-I don't understand-" He cuts you off, "y/n, you're safe now."

"y/n!" Someone else calls your name. You know that voice all too well. You turn around and there's Natsu with Erza. "Hurry up, slowpoke!" Natsu yells. You stand there, not able to move.

"C'mon, get over here!" Erza rushes you. "We're all here, y/n."

Tears begin to form in your eyes. You look at Jellal. "You don't wanna hold them up." He tells you. You look back and Natsu's running to you with his big toothy smile.

When he reaches, he extends his hand out. "Come on, the adventure continues!" The tears stream down your face as you take his hand. The two of you begin to run and you begin to laugh.

You try wiping the tears away, but they won't stop coming. Natsu's standing right in front of you, looking out into the distance. You run to him and wrap your arms around him. It startles him a bit and you bury your face into his back.

"What's wrong, y/n?" He asks you.

"Nothing. Just a feeling... Thank you."
