Chapter 81: The One Who Closes the Gate

"Move!" I yell at the guards and try pushing through. "You are not allowed!" A guard yells. I look at the gate and see that it looks like it's about to open. "Let me through! You need to close the gate!" I warn.

"Y/n?" I hear. I look ahead and see Lucy and Wendy looking at me.

"Let her through." The Princess says to the guards. The guards move aside and I walk over to Lucy, Wendy, and the Exceeds. "Y/n!" Happy cheers and jumping on me, giving me a tight hug.

"Hi." I hug him back tightly before setting him down.

"I heard you guys won!" Lucy mentions.

"Yeah we did." I nod. I look at the gate. I'm about to say something until I'm interrupted by Lucy.

"This is the solution to our problems." Lucy smiles at the gate and a tear drop falls from her eye. I see it slowly start to crack open and mist starts going around everywhere.

"This isn't right." I say to myself as a bell is heard, announcing it's now midnight. July 7th. The place starts shaking. The power was odd.

"Wow. Look at that! This means our future has been saved." Wendy tells me. I say nothing as I step forward. Lucy and Wendy look at me confused. "What are you doing?!" The two ask.

"I have to close the gate!" I yell.

"What?!" The Princess asks me.

"Close the gate! We can't let it open!" I repeat.

"But... Future Rogue told us that you close the gate and that decisions causes everyone to die!" Lucy tells me. I look at her, confused.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but we have to close the gate! Closing the gate will save us!" I yell at Lucy. Guards then charge at me and tackle me to the ground.

"I can't let you close the gate." The princess tells me. I try getting the guards off me, but they were holding me down.

"Lucy! Wendy! We need to close the gate!" I yell at them. I look at them from beside me and they're crying. I don't know what when on in that castle, but I have to close that gate before it opens. "Please listen!" I beg. The princess and more guards step in front of me.

"I can't close the gate! This is the only weapon we have that will kill all 10,000 dragons." She tells me. I close my eyes and focus. All the guards holding me down start glowing. Slowly, they start floating up into the air until they're off me. I walk over to the princess.

"That thing is not a weapon! It's a time machine created by Zeref!" I yell at her.

"It contains massive amount of power and it'll release all in one blast." Princess responds.

"Don't be ridiculous! Listen to me, it's not a weapon!" I repeat.

A guard in white armor that is standing beside the princess says to me, "That's enough. Don't forget you're speaking to this land's princess."

"I don't give a damn who I'm talking to." I hiss at him. My eyes widen when the ground starts to rumble. The princess falls over. I look at the doors and see it. A dragon comes out from the doors. It lets out a loud roar and it blows some of the guards away and shatters our surroundings. I manage to stand my ground. The dragon lifts its claw and stomps, causing a huge linear explosion. I was more pissed right now than scared as I see another dragon coming out through the gate and a couple of more.

I walk over to the princess, "Tell me how to close the gate!" She was in a state of shock.

"Hurry!" I urge her. She points at a pedestal to the side of the Eclipse. I run over to the pedestal on the handle connected to it. I start pulling at it. The loud roaring made by the dragons kept distracting me.

"How did you know?!" I hear Lucy yell at me.

"It's a feeling!" I yelled back. This may sound weird to them, but I was having a hard time remembering where I had read about the Eclipse, but then it's like some little voice whispered to me that it was Zeref and the eclipse going on was going to cause the magic to go crazy. "The moon is causing it to go crazy!" I give a tiny explanation.

I don't know much about the origins of my magic. Not a lot is known about it besides that it's meant to slay Zeref and any sort of darkness. The Eclipse is made up of both Zeref's magic and my magic. The 12 Zodiac keys are needed to open it, but only my magic can close the gate. Another dragon comes out and lets out a loud roar, making me fly back. If I don't close the gate, the future I dreamed of will come true. I can't let that happen. I have to keep trying to save the future.

I run over in front of the gate. I close my eyes and start to think. "I need your help, ancestors." I say quietly to myself. I get a sudden surge in power and I open my eyes, looking at the gate in front of me. I place my hands out in front of me. "Sosen no ude!" I cast. Four pairs of light arms appear around me. The hands move forward and place over the doors. I feel sweat dripping down my forehead as I feel the gate slowly start to push. It starts becoming a bit of a struggle when a dragon tries pushing it open. I grunt and use all the power I have. The gate then shuts. The hands disappear.

"Thank you." I whisper before falling onto my knees. I feel someone wrap their arms around me. I look to see who it is and it's Lucy.

"You saved the day!"
"Yay!" I hear some cheers.

I push Lucy off. "There are seven dragons. We cannot celebrate." I announce to everyone and they start getting serious.

"You just had to ruin my plans." I hear someone say. I stand up and see a man with half white and half black hair in a long ponytail.

"Huh?" I question.

"No matter. I'm sure 7 dragons are enough." He smirks.

"What happened to Natsu?!" Lucy asks the man.

The man ignores, "To be honest, 10,000 dragons is too much to control."

"That's the man." I hear the princess say. I assume this man is the future Rogue that Lucy and the others told me about. He does look like Rogue.

"So you are the man my friends told me about. You didn't want me to close the gate." I say to him.

He smirks, "My ignorant subjects! Listen and take heath! I declare this the end of the human era! We will commence a new age! The Era of Dragons!" The 7 dragons come to him and let out a loud roar. "I order you to slaughter all the wizards in the city. I want every one of them dead." Rogue orders.
