Chapter 4: Strongest Team

It's been days since Lucy has joined the guild. Lemme just say... she's nice. She's seem to have grown close with Natsu and Happy. I don't know why I'm bothered by their closeness. It's not like I like Natsu. It's not like I could like Natsu. I can't love. Especially when I know I'm going to die someday, trying to defeat Zeref and E.N.D.

I'm putting it off for now. Natsu, I mean. I'll stop thinking about it. Erza should be coming back from her job today. I'll focus on that.

"We need to take a job soon." Natsu groans.

"Aye! We're running out of food money." Happy says as he nibbles on a fish.

"I also need rent money." I sigh. Living in Fairy Hills isn't cheap.

"Maybe you can join our team, Y/N. Lucy, Happy, you, and me." Natsu suggests.

"Our team disbanded. You only needed me because you needed a blonde." Lucy says.

"Y/N already works with me, Natsu. You're not taking her from me." Gray chimes into the conversation.

"You're annoying." Natsu responds to Gray. Gray gets all in Natsu's face and says, "Did you just call me annoying, fire freak?!"

"You're super annoying, popsicle." Natsu spits back. Then they start throwing childish comments to each other.

"Lucy. Y/N. Why don't you two make a dream team with me?" Loke comes behind Lucy and I and wraps one arm around me and one around Lucy.

"No thank you." I laugh and get away from him, leaving Lucy by herself with Loke. Staying with Loke and Lucy probably would have been better. Once I walked away, Gray shoved Natsu and sent him crashing onto me. I tripped and Natsu landed on top of me.

"Knock it off, you guys..." I manage to say. Natsu is pretty heavy. Not because he's fat. He's all muscle.

"Sorry Y/N. He picked a fight with me. I can't turn down his offer!" Gray says. Natsu stands up and fire engulfs his body.

"You're the one who started it, droopy eyes!" Natsu spats. Ice engulfs Gray's body as he responds, "When exactly did I start it, slanty eyes?!" They get back in each other's faces and spit stupid comments to each other.

As we're all watching, the doors bust open. "This is bad! It's Erza... she's back!" Loke announces. All the members gasp and start fixing the guild up. I sweat dropped. They act like Erza is some monsters. She's not that scary.

We could hear Erza's footsteps from a mile away. It was so quiet. Every time Erza returns from a job, it gets this quiet. I enjoy it. Erza steps inside and sets down what appears to be a huge and decorated tooth.

"I've returned. Is the master here?" Erza asks.

"Welcome back. The master's at a conference." Mira informs Erza.

"I see." I walk up to Erza and smile at her, "How was the job?" She smiles at me, "Good. Took me longer than expected. This is a horn of a monster I subdued." Erza tells me.

3rd p.o.v

"Erza and Y/N seem close." Lucy points out. Mira nods, "They joined the guild together. They were already here when I joined, but what from Y/N told me, they grew up together."

"I hear Erza is one of the two people that know about Y/N's magic." Lucy tells Mira.

Mira shrugs, "Yeah she is. We're all curious, but anytime someone tries to ask, Gray or Erza get on the person's head about invading Y/N's privacy. I think the other person that knows is Gray."

"Listen up!" Erza yells and the members go dead silent. "On the road, I heard that Fairy Tail has been causing yet more trouble. Master may not care, but I do!" Now Erza's about to start calling people out.

"Cana! How dare you drink dressed like that! Vijeeter! Dance outside! Wakaba. I see cigarette butts on the floor. Nab. I see you're dawdling in front of the request board as usual. Do some work! Macao..." Erza sighs.

"Say something!" Macao exclaims.

Erza face palms, "Honestly, you cause so much trouble. I'll be kind and say nothing for today. Are Natsu and Gray here?" Erza asks me. I nod and point at the two. The two who were just fighting are now hugging.

"H-Hi Erza. We're good buddies as usual!" Gray says.

"Aye!" Natsu says in a high pitched voice.

"I see. It's natural for good friends to fight sometimes, too. That said, I like seeing you get along like that." Erza tells them. Erza continues, "Y/N. Natsu. Gray. I have a favor to ask. I heard about something bad while on my last job. Normally, I would consult the master about something like this first, but I believe this is a matter of the utmost urgency. I want your help. Will you come with me?"

I look over my shoulder to Gray and Natsu, who are just as confused as me. It's unusual for Erza to ask for help. She never does. Usually she's able to deal with problems on her own. I turn back to Erza. "We leave tomorrow. Make sure you're ready." She informs us.

3rd p.o.v

"Erza, Gray, Natsu, and Y/N... I never imagined it before. This could very well be the most powerful team in Fairy Tail..." Mira thinks out loud.

"Really?!" Lucy asks.

Mira nods, "Both Gray and Natsu are powerful wizards. A trio of just Erza, Gray, and Natsu seems like a good team, but add Y/N to the mix and it's a dream team. Although Y/N may not use magic, she's strong. Stronger than Erza."

"I heard Erza's like some monster!" Lucy says.

"And she is. Like all other Fairy Tail wizards, she tends to go overboard. Y/N on the other hand, I would say she's the most powerful yet most graceful female in the guild. We don't even know her magic. She's as powerful as Erza with just her bare fist or just an unsheathed sword." Mira responds.

"I asked Y/N a question when I first got here. About Siegrain." Lucy said.

"The council member?" Mira questions and Lucy nods, "I thought they would be related. They share the last name."

Mira shakes her head and looks down, "It's the same thing as her magic. You don't ask about her family. We all suspect about Siegrain being connected to her. The mark Siegrain has on his eye... Y/N has on her hip. Only Erza and Gray know about her family. Y/N's sweet, but don't ask about her past. She'll shut you out forever."
