Chapter 63: Hatred at Nightfall

a/n: to be honest, i wish they gave yukino more spirits. they should've gave yukino 6 and lucy 7

"That was so cool!" I smile after watching the match between Yukino and Kagura.

"This is crazy! Sabertooth wasn't able to score a single point on day 2!"

"I'll imagine their master isn't happy about that."

"Wow! That was.... so freaking cool! Oh yeah!"

"I'd love to go against Kagura." I say as I watch her exit the field. 

"Betting their lives a bit extreme." Mira comments and I nod. 

"That wraps up day 2 of the Grand Magic Games! In 1st place with 36 points is Raven Tail! Despite a rough day 2 Sabertooth is still hanging on in 2nd place, but now they share that spot with Lamia Scale! Their teams are tied with a score of 20 points!"

"After scoring 10 points today the ladies of Mermaid Heel jumped two places to 4th place! They have a total of 19 points." 

"Blue Pegasus drops down to 5th place with 17 points! Coooool!"

"And falling back to 6th place is Quatro... Puppy. Although they've both earned an impressive 10 points today, two teams fighting for last are Fairy Tail Team A and Fairy Tail Team B. Who knows what exciting battles will be in store for us for day 3!" 

It was late at night and I was out in the town with Jellal. "You still haven't sensed anything?" I ask him. 

"No not yet. We usually sense power similar to Zeref at the games, but for some reason we have yet to sense it this year." He tells me. 

"And why do you think that is?" 

"I'm not sure, but I can think of millions of possibilities. Let's say a wizard is responsible for the power, well they're probably not participating in the games or they're here in Crocus, but not using that particular magic." He shares with me. 

"Maybe it's someone who's in the games and hasn't had the chance to compete yet."

"If it's from a device or a specific location then that makes things slightly more complicated. Either the device hasn't been activated or something is stopping this device from releasing out magic." He tells me. 

"If you're not sensing it, then there's no need for us to worry right now." I say to him. 

"Tomorrow I will try to do some investigation on the event organizers, meaning I'll have to step down from the games. You'll have to fill in for me." He says. 

"Finally!" I smile. Jellal starts walking off. Before he goes I say to him, "Try not to draw so much attention to yourself!"

"I've learned my lesson." He says as he puts on his mask. I start walking off in a different direction.

I open the door to the bar. "You're back, Y/n!" Natsu waves. I nod and say, "Someone came to visit if that's okay!" I walk in and both Lyon and Cheria follow after me. 

a/n: okay, but the yukino scene is so sad. 

I walk into the bar and walk over to Natsu. "Guess who's participating the game?" I say. 

"Who?"

"Me!" I smile. 

"Really? Well I guess that makes us enemies, right? If we were to battle, don't hold back!" Natsu gives me a thumbs up. 

"Wasn't planning to!"

"I was going to do my grand reveal after the games, but I wanted to see you and Y/n so bad! I couldn't help it! I guess, I'll wait to surprise her." Milliana says to Erza as they sit on a bench. 

"I must say I was very impressed by your guildmate. Kagura, was it?" Erza asks. 

"Yeah she's something else! Now that you mention it, she might even be stronger than you, Erzy." 

"In that case, I hope I get the chance to fight her." Erza responds. 

"Well this is a tournament, so you might get your wish real soon! But, I don't think Kagura would fight very seriously. At least, not yet." Milliana looks up at the night sky. 

"Why do you say that?" Erza asks. 

"You saw how she didn't draw her arch enemy sword, right?" Erza nods and Milliana continues, "It's like a reminder. She'll never draw that sword until it's time to strike down the person she named it for," There was a pause as Milliana looked down and her bangs cast a shadow over her eyes, "The man she hates so much... She won't be satisfied until he's finally deep in the ground. She'll do whatever it takes to put him there herself. She'll draw her sword to kill Jellal."

Erza's eyes widen. 

Milliana smirks, "I don't blame her. You feel the same way too, don't you Erzy? I know you do. Sure, Y/n will probably hate it, but... he caused us all so much pain. She'll understand, right? I have never stopped hating Jellal. He used us like tools. He took Simon away from us. For all of those sins, he has to pay. He will."

"Hey Erza!" I say loudly when I see Erza leaning over a railing. She jumps and she turns around. I walk over to her. I lean over and look below. "Jellal said I was finally taking his place in the games tomorrow!" I announce to her. She smiles, "That's great. You'll be a great help to your team." 

I smile at her before looking up at the stars. "After the whole Tower of Heaven situation, I dreamed of this. I dreamed that one day I would finally be able to see Jellal. See him as the brother I grew up with. I think he's actually changed, do you?" 

I look at her and she nods. "He'll probably be running for the rest of his life, but he's smart. He won't get caught. I'm sure there's also plenty of people out there in the world who want to hurt him for what he's done, they have a right to be mad. If anyone comes after him... I'll rip them to shreds." 

Erza just stares at me and I start to laugh. "I'm kidding." I tell her. 

"We should start heading back to the hotel. If you're participating tomorrow then you need sleep. You need to be prepared." Erza says and starts walking off. I follow after her.
