Chapter 82: Naked and Afraid

Me and the others look at the green dragon in front of us after Natsu had given us all a speech about only dragon slayers are able to take down these dragons. It was the one we had met in the cave, but he didn't seem to remember us. Maybe because we talked with his present self and this was him 400 years ago. "Ohhh! They're really going at it, aren't they?" The dragon, Zirconis, says regarding the other 6 dragons. "You humans have always been entertaining." He laughs.

"Looks like you're a loud mouth in the flesh too." Lucy says to him.

"What did you expect? I'm not the type to just mindlessly destroy everything. I'm a great conversationalist! I've always been more sophisticated and intelligent than my other friends. You're all trembling! Completely frozen with fear! I strike terror in your hearts, don't I?" He talks to us. "If you want to run, you can, but that just means I'd have to chase you down and eat you!'

Wendy steps forward, "Please tell me something."

"Ah! What is this? You wanna have a chat with me, little girl?"

"Why did you all come here? Why are you destroying our home like this?" Wendy asks him.

"You wanna know why?" He points up in the sky, "To be honest, that's who you should be asking." He's pointing to Rogue and the dragon he was flying on. "You see that dragon? Well that guy on top is the one that is calling all the shots. Don't get me wrong. No human is gonna boss me around, but this seems like a fun idea so I went along with it."

I put my hand up in a stop motion, "Pause." The green dragon stops talking. I look at Lucy, "You have to fill me in on all this. Future Rogue and all that crap."

"Oh yeah! Well you see, we got trapped in this underground place in the castle and we met someone with a hooded cloak," Lucy starts.

"Before that, we had to fight some of these Assassins." Happy adds.

"Ah yeah! Those assassins! Well anyway, we met this hooded figure at the doors,"

"Doors?" The dragon questions.

"Yes, the doors to the exit to this underground place," Lucy answers before she continues, "And she was crying! And turned out, the hooded figure was you!"

"Me?"

"This girl?" The dragon points at me.

Lucy nods, "You from the future!"

"Future?"

"Yes, a couple of days into the future." Wendy explains.

"Ah okay. Go on." The dragon says.

"She told us that in her time there's 10,000 dragons ruling the place." Lucy tells me.

"Then we met future Rogue!" Lily says.

"After a bit of fighting we met future Rogue, yes. He told us about the "Eclipse Cannon" and how it can be used to defeat these dragons, but one person prevents it from happening by closing the gate."

"That person being her, I assume." The dragon points.

Lucy nods, "And well... let's just say Rogue killed you."

"Rogue killed me?!"

She nods, "And well... I'm not gonna go into details about the death or I'll cry, but she told us, well I guess technically you told us, that you didn't close the gate."

"Huh?" The dragon and I tilt our heads in confusion.

"And well Rogue was convinced you closed the gate and you ended up closing the gate, thank goodness. It's just very confusing though." Lucy finishes.
