Chapter 29: A Brand New Best Friend

"I won't tell your father about this incident, unless you tell me as to why you were with the Earth land Fairy Tail and exceeds." Edolas Erza says as she escorts me somewhere in the castle.

"It doesn't concern you." I say.

"I don't understand why you're so against the idea of getting rid of Fairy Tail and the lacrima extraction." Erza says as she looks to the side. I stop and she does too.

"What you do mean you don't understand? They're people. You're killing human beings for your own personal benefit. That's why I'm against it." I spit. She says nothing and we continue walking until we reach a beautiful hallway.

We stop at a door. "I won't be telling your father. Even though I should. You've done this far too many times. Run away. Next time I or another one of us find you, I'm taking you straight to him." Erza says as she opens the door. I look in and it's a beautiful bedroom. I enter and close the door on Erza.

"Time to find the King." I whisper to myself. I turn around to face the bed and see myself standing at the bathroom door with a towel around herself.

"Uhm!" I yelp and turn around quickly.

"You must be Earth land me... It's fine to turn around. We're the same." She says. I turn around and see her changing onto pajamas laid out on her bed. "I heard about you Earth land people invading Edolas."

"Uhm...yeah." I say.

"Is this weird for you?" She giggles before taking a seat on her bed.

"Yeah." I chuckle.

"It's weird for me too. I was crossing my fingers that you'd be one of the Earth land-ers wondering around." She smiles.

"So... you're not going to turn me in?" I ask.

"Wha-! No way. I think it'd be nice having you around. You're me! I wouldn't turn myself in. Plus, you're the first outsider I've talked to... ever! The only people I talk to are Erza and the other royal army captains." Me tells me. I walk over to the bed and sit at the edge.

"So we're royalty? That's sick." I say.

"Eh. It has its perks like... parades. Or this castle. Besides that, father is very controlling." She tells me. "Do you use magic?" She asks me. I nod and place my hand out. The small yellow orb I used to light up the passageway appears.

She gasps and admires it. I hand it over to her and she holds it cautiously. "That's so cool!" She says. I snap my fingers and the orb disappears. I then make a fist and open it. Yellow and glowing butterflies come out and fly all around the room. The Edolas me laughs.

"So this is magic." She whispers as she puts her finger out and a butterfly lands on it. I nod and the butterflies fade away.

"I'm sure you know about the lacrima extraction. To give us magic." Me says. I nod and say, "I have to find a way to save my friends." Edolas me smiles. From what Edolas Erza asked me, my Edolas me is against it.

"You remind me of my brother when we were younger. Father set all these rules and... well... my brother always fought him for what was right. Tell me, do you have a brother too?" She asks.

I nod.

"Jellal." We say in sync. She looks down at the ground with a smile, "He's been missing for years now. He was my best friend. My person."

"My brother was my best friend too." I say.

"Is he missing?" Me asks me.

I shake my head, "Just... gone."

I think of Jellal getting taken away by the council during the Oracion Seis incident.

"What are you in Earth land?" She changes the topic.

"A wizard. A Fairy Tail wizard." I show her my guild mark on my shoulder.

"Fairy Tail. I've had some run ins with them before." She tells me.

"Bad ones?"

She shakes her head. "I've ran away a couple of times before. To search for Jellal. I either got lost every time or one of the royal captains found me. Every time I got lost, a Fairy Tail member always found me, took care of me, and guided me back home. I think it was more than just a coincidence that they're the only people who ever found me. I think it wanted to tell me that I'm somehow connected to the guild." She points at my mark. "Maybe the bond is meant to be."

I smile at her.

"For a guild that claims to be a dark one, they're not that evil." She comments.

"Our Fairy Tail isn't dark. It's a good guild. I'm sure in every universe though, Fairy Tail is the good kind." I say. I look at her, "You wouldn't happen to know how to free my friends from the lacrima, right?"

She shakes her hand, "I think only father and the royal army captains know how to. They don't share with me. They think I could "rebel."" She does quotation marks. So that means if I were to ask the king, he wouldn't tell me.

No one would.

"Some of my friends were captured. I pretended to be you to well... get here and ask the king how to destroy the lacrima." I explain.

"Smart plan, but like I said, father doesn't tell me anything."

"Well maybe you could tell me where my friends are. They've been captured." I tell her. "Two cats, one boy, two girls."

"Cats? Exceeds?" She asks, a bit taken aback.

"Uhm.... they're cats."

"Exceeds to be exact. I can't believe you are friends with them!" She expresses and I just raise a brow. Until I remember Lucy and Wendy's words.

"For example, there's stuff written about a tribe called the Exceeds."

"I heard about them too! Apparently they're a very feared race." Wendy shares.

And in the cave, Erza called them exceeds.

"Well... if they're back then that must mean their mission is complete." Me stands up and walks over to a door. She opens it and it's a walk in closet. She grabs two outfits. I stand up and ask, "Mission?"

She throws over an outfit at me and I catch it. She pulls off her shirt and pants. "Yes."

"What mission?" I ask.

"Bring the dragon slayers and kill them."
