Chapter 76: The Fairy Tactician | Final Day

The games start and we stay standing, remembering Mavis' telepathic message.

"W-What's this?! Wh-What's wrong?! The members of Fairy Tail have their eyes closed and aren't moving!"

I try blocking out everyone talking and continue to focus.

"Quatro Puppy's Novali is incapacitated! Lamia Scale gains a point, which puts them in 3rd place alone!"
"Oh, my! Mermaid Heel's Arania and Beth are both incapacitated! Blue Pegasus gains two points, bringing their total to 32 points!"
"The members of Fairy Tail are still just standing there!"
"Whoa! Lamia is crushing Puppy!"
"Lamia Scale gets another two points."
"Their total is 43 points-kabo!"
"Uh-oh! Lamia's Toby and Yuka are suddenly face-to-face with... Bacchus!"
"It's Sting! Saber's Sting came out of nowhere to knock out Bacchus, the leader of Quatro Puppy! Sabertooth gains five points! Sabertooth now has 49 points and takes over 1st place!"
"Oh, my! Kagura is here! With Yuka and Toby out of the way, it's a one-on-one fight with Sting!"
"Huh?"

"He's gone-kabo..."

It hurt when they said Sabertooth was now in first place. I kept concentrating though.

"Mermaid Heel earns two points-kabo!"
"It seems Mermaid Heel's Millianna has taken down Quatro Puppy's Rocker."

"That's another point, bringing them up to 43! Wow, Mermaid is really putting the pressure on!"
"And I think Puppy is already wiped out?"

"Wild-kabo!"

"The points are increasing at a dizzying rate! But Fairy Tail has yet to move a muscle!"

We open our eyes.

"Lead your comrades to victory... Begin Operation: Fairy Star!" We hear Mavis say telepathically.

"Roger!" We all say and start running.

"Finally! Fairy Tail has finally started to move!"

"Everyone, spread out! Please proceed to the next checkpoint." Mavis instructs. "At this point, there's a 97% chance Rufus will make a move."

She was right and Rufus uses his signature Night of Shooting Stars spell. "Ignore the light in the sky, and in two seconds you can dodge it." She tells us.

I dodge it right on time.

"This magic's attribute is lightning. Only Laxus should block it." Mavis informs us. "The enemy is shaken and his thoughts are disordered. Because of those disordered thoughts, there's a 68% chance Rufus will try to approach us. There's a 32% chance he'll stand by at his current location. But even in that case, it doesn't have much of an effect on our strategy. At this point, Y/n will make contact with an enemy by proceeding northwest."

I stop when I see my first opponent. Jenny from Blue Pegasus. She was right. "Huh?! Y/n?!" Jenny starts running. I ran faster than her and step in front of her. I do a spinning kick and kick her in the face, sending her flying back.

"No!!" She cries.

"Gajeel, obliterate the enemy to the south." Mavis orders. "Gray, after you take out the enemy who escaped to the water fountain plaza, go directly to point B4."

"Oh my! Fairy Tail has managed to tie for first place! Both the Tigers and the Fairies have 49 points!"

"Juvia, scan for enemies while supporting the rear guard! Laxus, continue to f8! Y/n, go to S5. There's an enemy movement in that area! The fall of this enemy is the key to Sabertooth's fall!"
