Chapter 57: Night of Shooting Stars | Day One

a/n: blue pegasus and sabertooth are my favorite guilds (after fairy tail ofc ._.)

I had moved over to Fairy Tail's Team B's booth to watch the games. 

"It's finally about to begin! Just what kind of contest is Hidden?! And is there anyone to watch for, Mr. Yajima?!"

"Hmm... Rufus of Sabertooth is probably the odds-on favorite, but I'd personally keep an eye on Gray."  

"And what does today's guest, Ms. Jenny of Blue Pegasus, think?!"

"Why, our dear old Eve, of course! He's really strong!"

"Field open!" The pumpkin says and a whole city just appears in the field. "A manifestation of an entire city? Just how much magic does that take?" I hear Jellal ask himself. The contestants disappear in the city too. "So basically hide and seek?" I ask Mira. 

"It appears so." She replies. A lacrima screen then appears in front of us. 

"Those of you in the stands can follow the action in the town via these lacrima-trons! The eight competitors are unable to keep tabs on each other, however! Hidden's rules are simple! All competitors are hiders and seekers at the same time! The goal is to find other competitors in the town and then strike them with any magic at all! The competitor who delivers the attack, whether it causes damage or not, will score 1 point!" Copies of the other then appear all over the place. I guess to make it more difficult to find another player. "Should you mistakenly attack a copy, you'll lose 1 point! Now then, vanish into the silence, like a black cat lurking in the darkness of night!" A gong is hit. "Let Hidden begin!"

"This seems so fun! I wish they held these games before we lost 7 years of our lives." I say. Juvia hugged a copy and well, she lost a point and was transported somewhere else. "When this happens, the player is forced to start somewhere else from a different area 10 seconds later! Being struck by another wizard will also result in a loss of 1 point and forced to restart."

"That idiot..." I hear Gajeel growl. 

"Juvia might be at a disadvantage here!" Mirajane giggles.

"I would've entered if I'd known it'd be like this." Laxus says. 

"Competitors can restart as many times as needed during the contest! The game will last 30 minutes and the team that earns the most points will be ranked 1st place!"

I watch as Gray is running that Nalpudding guy appears behind him. Gray stops and turns around. Gray used his ice make magic to make a hammer and hit him. It looked like a powerful attack and he hit Nalpudding head on. Instead of adding a point to the scoreboard, it deducts a point instead. Turns out Gray hit a copy. 

"I already know this game is gonna stress me out. I'm going to the concession stand. Anyone want anything?" I ask. They all shake their heads and I start making my way to the concession stand to buy some stress food. 

I wait in line until it's my turn. There was a small TV screen in the concession booth where you can view the game. "What can I get you?" The lady ask me. I'm focusing on the screen and see Gray was hit by Nalpudding, now he has -2 points. 

"Hello? Ma'am?" she says. I look at her and says, "Uhm... a chocolate bar, hot dog, cheese fries, small bag of peanuts, huge bag of popcorn, some nachos, and a water." I order. She looks at me for a second before they prepare it all up. I continue watching the screen. I see Gray almost get attacked my Lyon until Juvia falls from a building and kicks Lyon in the face. 

Gray figured out about the deal Master made with B team and as the two are about to attack each other, Nalpudding appears and hits them again. "Your food is ready." The lady says. I smile and pay for it. She had put it all in a big brown carton tray for me. I start walking away, but someone leans on the wall beside me and is in my way.
