Chapter 5: Lullaby

"Why do I have to team up with you?!" Natsu groans.

"That's my line! If Erza needs help, Y/N and I are more than enough!" Gray spits back. They start again with the stupid 5th grade insults.

"Why did you tag along, Lucy?" I ask as we both hold our Nikoras in our laps.

"Because of Mira..." She begins to explain to Happy and I.

"You aren't stopping them though." Happy points out.

"The more the merrier, Lucy!" I smile at her. As the two bicker, we hear Erza come. She says, "I'm sorry. Did I keep you waiting?" And the two stop arguing and wraps their arms around their shoulders. Lucy's jaw drops when she sees Erza's luggage.

Erza told me once, 'There's no such thing as overpacking.'

"Let's be good buddies today, as usual!" Gray cheers.

"Aye!" Natsu responds.

Erza smiles at the pair, "Yes. It's important to be on good terms," Erza's attention then turns to Lucy, "So who are you? Didn't I see you at Fairy Tail yesterday?"

Lucy introduces herself, "I-I'm Lucy! I just joined!" As they talk, I looked behind Erza and see Gray and Natsu giving each other death glares. When Erza noticed me looking behind her, she glanced over her shoulder and two wrapped their arms around each other. When she turned back to Lucy, they start to glaring again. She turned back quickly and they hugged.

"Erza. I'll come along, but on one condition." Natsu speaks up.

"What is it? Tell me."

"Fight me once we get back!" Natsu clenches his fist in determination.

"Don't get hasty! Do you want to die?" Gray panics.

"Things are different from last time. I can beat you now!" Natsu says.

Erza grins at Natsu, "It's true that you've improved. I feel somewhat at a disadvantage, but all right. I accept."

Natsu's body is then cover in flames and he shouts, "All right! Now I'm fired up!"

"Geez you're pathetic. This, immediately after picking a fight?" Gray says, referring to Natsu being sick on the train. Gray was closest to the window, I was next to him with both Finn and Happy on my lap, then Natsu next to me. Across from us was Lucy (with Plue in her lap) and Erza next to her.

"All right. Natsu come sit next to me." Erza instructs. Natsu 'aye's and switches spots with Lucy. Erza then instructs Natsu to relax and she knocks him out.

Gray, ignoring the fact that Erza just knocked Natsu out, asks, "Erza. Isn't it about time you fill us in?"

"Right. We're going up against the Eisenwald dark guild. They plan to use a magic called Lullaby for something big." Erza explains. Gray, Lucy, and Happy all look at each other, knowing about the device Lullaby. They went on a job together. I've heard about it too. From my parents.

Gray and Lucy begin to explain to us about their run ins with Eisenwald on a job. "I see. So you've ran into them before." Erza said.

"Probably. They did mention something about Lullaby." Gray responds.

"They were probably guild droppers. The plan must've been too much for them, so they ran off." I comment.

"Lemme explain everything in order. It happened the other day on my way home after that job, I stopped by a pub in Onibas where wizards gather..." And she begins to tell us everything. "The fact that it's sealed away likely means it's very powerful magic." Erza finishes.

"They were members of Eisenwald?" Gray asks.

Erza nods, "Like a fool though, I didn't recognise the name 'Erigor' at the time. He's the ace of the Eisenwald dark guild. He only accepts assassination-related jobs, for which he earned the nickname 'Erigor the Reaper'. The council outlawed assassination requests, but Eisenwald decided that money is more important. As a result, it was kicked out of the wizard guild league six years ago. However, they disobeyed orders and remain active to this day." Erza explains.

From beside me, I feel Lucy's sweat and nervousness. My Finn was even shaking like crazy. Erza slams her fist onto Natsu's head and says, "If only I had recognised Erigor's name then, I could've pulverised them and had them confess their scheme!"

Gray thinks, "I see. So Eisenwald is planning to do something with this Lullaby, and you want to stop them because it's obviously something bad?"

"Yes. That's why I asked for help. I don't believe I can take on a whole guild by myself. We're going to storm the Eisenwald guild." Erza responds.

"Sounds interesting." Gray comments.

We make a stop at another train station and purchase some sandwiches. While Lucy gets to know Erza better, I read from my book. The wizard who sealed my magic away and helped me provided me with books. Books that would help me learn more about my magic and how to use it.

We arrive at Onibas station.

"Are the Eisenwald guys still in this town?" Gray asks.

"I don't know. That's what we're going to find out." Erza answers.

I stop when I realise something, when I look back at the train though... it was gone. "We forgot Natsu." I mention. I hear Erza get mad at herself and we just watch as the train leaves.

Erza starts running to the where the train is controlled and we follow behind. Once we reach, she pulls the emergency lever so the train could come to a stop.

She explains and blah blah blach. Erza then grabs a magic mobile. Lucy, Happy, and I get inside while Gray rides on top. At full speed, Erza heads to the train. Natsu flies out the train and towards the mobile. Both Gray and Natsu let out a shout as Natsu knocks Gray off the car. Erza hits the breaks and we run over to check up on the two.

"Some weirdo attacked me in train. The one who dragged away the guys who tried to eat Happy. Said he was from Eisenwald." Natsu informs us. Erza's eyes widen and slaps Natsu across the face.

"You fool! We're trying to go after Eisenwald! Why did you let him go?!" Erza scolds.

"I didn't know..." Natsu says quietly.

"I explained it earlier! Listen when people talk!" Erza yells at him. I was about to stand up for Natsu, but it was too late now. He was already hit.

"On train you say? We're going after him!" Erza gets on the mobile and connects it to herself. Gray and I ask Natsu all about this guy.

Natsu responds, "He wasn't very distinctive, actually. He did have some kind of skull flute. It had three eyes."

"Skull flute?" I ask to confirm and then I start to think. I know about this Lullaby. I remember every little word my parents told me about it.

"What's the matter, Y/N?" Happy asks me.

"I know that flute... Lullaby. A cursed song. It's like death magic. My parents told me about it and I've read about it in some books." I say.

"Cursed black magic that kills whomever it's used on." Erza adds.

"It's worse than that." I tell her. We aboard the mobile and Erza drives recklessly and at full speed. Inside was the same except Natsu was able to fit too. His head was resting on my shoulder and Happy was on my lap.

~flashback~

"Lullaby? Like a sleepy song?" I ask as my parents explain it.

My mother shakes her head, "I guess technically it's like that. However, the people who hear this lullaby... sleep forever."

"What does this have to do with my magic?" I ask.

My father explains, "Your magic is meant to bring light to all darkness. Your magic could seal this item away if it's ever found by the wrong hands. Anything Zeref related, you can destroy."
