"Ach!" Vegeta shouts, a terror-filled expression spreading across his face. "Get it away from me!" He slinks further behind me, the normally still reservoir shifting because of the anxious movements.
Do. Not. Laugh.
"Baby, you aren't scared are you?"
"Pfft. No! I just... errr... We came here to swim, didn't we? Why are you playing with that-that thing?!" Releasing the mostly harmless reptile, I turn around to face my angsty mate.
"That thing was a corn snake, love. It wouldn't have harmed you. Heh, I have to say I'm a little shocked, Vegeta. First worms, now snakes?"
He scowls deeply, hoisting himself into me, his legs snug underneath my arms. Pouting, he buries his face near my ear.
"Tch. You're one to talk. At least I don't fear needles."
