Three months later

Y/n's POV

It had gone three months since everything.

Three months since we got Emerald back home.

Three months since I was shot in the shoulder.

Three months since Mattia killed Antonio Luis.

And three months since I had talked to him...

The Polibio's were still living with us. Their house was getting built again, and would be done in a few months. That meant that I only had to stay in the same house as him for a few more months.

After the day, where we had repeated how much we hated each other, we hadn't talked.

Both of us ignored each other.

No hateful comments.

No attempted murdering.

Absolutely nothing.

Both our families noticed that we were ignoring each other. They tried to make us talk, but none of them succeeded.

Even though we ignored each other I still noticed that something was wrong every time I saw him. Something was always bothering him.

But because of us not talking, or even interacting with each other, I didn't ask him what was going on.

I didn't care.

Lie

I didn't care about him.

Another lie.

I hated him.

Lies, after lies, after lies...

"Mommy the toy is here! Can someone go and check!", Em whined and sat down in mothers lap.

Everyone was sitting in the living room, and when I say everyone, I mean everyone. Even me and Mattia.

Mother smiled and bopped Emerald on the nose. "We will check later. Lets sit together now and talk"

She looked over at Mattia before looking at me.

Oh no.

"Y/n and Ma-"

Luckily for me, mother was cut off when Emerald started whining and trashing in her lap.

Sensing a chance of escaping what mother was about to say, I got up from the couch.

 "I'll check the mailbox"

"Y, you're the best!", Emerald yelled after me as I exited the living room.

I chuckled to myself and made my way over to the front door.

Slipping on my shoes, I opened the door and walked out.

After getting the toy from the mailbox I retreated back in, took off my shoes and headed towards the living room.

My steps slowed down when I heard yelling coming from there.

"No! She is still not healed completely. I am not taking her with me. I can go alone, but I am not risking her life!", I heard Mattia say.

"Son, we are not risking her life. My daughter has begged me to send her on a mission since she got wounded. This is the safest mission. You are just going to collect information from a hotel. And if anything happens, you are there with her"
