Mattia's POV

I looked down at my watch for the fifth time before looking up at the doors to the room. My foot was tapping the floor in a rhythmic beat as my eyes moved from the door and scanned the room. I saw everyone except for the person I wanted to see.

Where was she?

Letting out a sigh, I started messing with the cuffs on my shirt when I heard doors open. My head whipped up, and my attention instantly fell on the person in the door opening, but it wasn't the black ball gown or the makeup that caught my attention. It was the woman wearing them.

She stepped into the ballroom, confidence radiating out of her, as she walked further into the room, ignoring everyone that was staring at her, including me. Her eyes scanned the room before stopping at someone.

My eyes followed where she was looking and I saw my little brother. His eyes were wide open as he looked at her. Can't blame him for his reaction, she was looking incredible.

She made her way over to him and said something, making him give her a sheepish smile in return as he took a sip from the drink he was holding in his hands. He answered her back before he glanced around and our eyes met. In an instant, he looked back at her and grinned, saying something to her.

They exchanged a few more words before he looked over at me. She turned her head in my direction, and her eyes slightly expanded when she saw me. I watched as she took in my whole appearance, and when she looked at my face, I let my own eyes rake over her figure.

Holy hell she was gorgeous.

A few moments after I had checked her out, I returned my gaze to hers. My lips twitched into a smile before I looked away.

No need to let Kairi find out that we had something going on. We had planned to drop the bomb about our relationship at the end of the ball. Right now, we just had to ignore each other, even though that looked like an impossible task at the moment.

I tried keeping my gaze away from her, but I couldn't do it anymore after a short time. My head turned back in the direction where she and Kairi were, and when my eyes landed on them, my jaw clenched.

My eyes scanned the man standing beside her. Blue dress, brown hair, pale skin. His hand was stretched out in front of Y/n, and he had a stupid smile plastered over his face.

Asshole.

They exchanged a few words before she looked away. I saw her eyes scanning the crowd before my attention was back on the man. In the split second I had turned my attention away from him, his eyes had somehow made their way to her body, and he was now eying her chest.

Motherfucker.

My fists clenched and unclenched at my sides and my jaw clenched. Who the fuck did he think he was to have the audacity to look at my girl like that? I pushed people aside, getting ready to get to them when someone grabbed my arm. I turned around and was met by a whole group of women.

For fucks sake.

"Excuse me", the brunette, holding my arm, spoke up. She smiled at me, flashing her teeth and running her tongue over her lips. If she thought that turned me on she was wrong. The only thing that could turn me on was the woman who used to hold a knife to my throat.

Ignoring the women in front of me, I glanced around the room, trying to find Y/n, but when I didn't see her, I turned my attention back to the group of women in front of me and raised my eyebrows. "What can I help you ladies with?"

The woman that held my arm gave me yet another one of her smiles, that she thought turned me on, and ran her hand from my arm and down to my hand.

Fed up with her flirting and touching, I pulled my hand out of her grip and crossed my arms over my chest, glaring at her and the women beside her. "If there isn't anything I can help you guys with, you may excuse me."
