HEAD CANNON — DEREK HAS A NIGHTMARE
• Derek sometimes has nightmares either of the hale house fire or watching you die in his arms • When the nightmares do happen it rattles him completely and is too terrified to go back to sleep • He'll usually get out of bed and sit in the windowsill and just watch the brightly shining moon • Even though you often reassure him you're not going anywhere, he still has the strong underlying fear of losing you • You end up waking up to a cold empty space next to you and instantly know he had another nightmare • When you leave the room you to share, you find him sitting on the windowsill looking deep in thought • His eyes were glossy with tears he was fighting to hold in • Once you were in his sight he instantly pulled you into his embrace, needing to feel you in his arms for his own security • He needed to know you were really there with him and that his nightmare wasn't real • His wolf purrs when you begin running your fingers through his dark locks, soothing him completely • Purposely he rubs his nose against your temple to scent mark you in attempt to keep his wolf relaxed • He moves the two of you so you were standing between in between his legs and his head was resting against your chest • Neither of you said anything, Derek only needing to calming sound of your heart beating in your chest while you rub your hands on his back to stop his trembling body • It wasn't long after you could feel the tears leaking from Derek's eyes but you knew better than to say anything • He arms tightened around you, not enough to hurt you but enough to where you couldn't escape from his hold • After a while of standing there in his arms he allowed you to bring him back to bed • Once the two of you were underneath the covers he pulled you into his arms once more, doing everything he could to find a position comfortable for you but could easily shield you and keep you hidden by his large frame • He was scared to fall asleep again as he didn't want to go through another nightmare but as long as he had you in his arms, he was okay
