YOU WERE ABSOLUTELY FUMING BY WHAT YOU ENCOUNTERED WHEN ARRIVING AT DEREK'S LOFT. not only were you angry you were also incredibly hurt by the sight you saw. luckily for you derek didn't notice you and you were able to leave without him knowing you were ever there. though that also didn't seem to make you feel any better either. you hated how gutted you were, and you were beginning to think you didn't matter as much to derek as you believed you did. was everything he said and did all a lie?
the dynamic you and derek shared was unique and special. anyone could see the incredible connection between you guys despite not dating. neither of you treaded across that territory or seemed to just circle around the fact. the feelings you shared were all there in intense love, there was no denying that. however, you guys just never crossed that line with each other in talking about the way you felt. why you guys didn't would be a question you just couldn't answer.
being around derek was easy and comfortable from the beginning. you and him seemed to click together instantly, often ignoring the pack to just be with each other. he was the first to open up to you about his horrific past. from losing his family in an arson fire caused by a hunter who used his innocence to their advantage, to coming back to see his older sister killed by his uncle for the alpha title. you had met him in the midst of when the kanima was running wild in beacon hills, being one of its random victims one night after leaving work.
derek had saved you but was forced to answer all these questions about everything. he had attempted to keep as much distance from you as he possibly could but it were all failed attempts as his wolf took quite the liking to you. he slowly yet gradually found himself always thinking of you, wanting to be around you constantly. but he also did all he could to keep you safe from the dangers of this type of world. it wasn't easy but there was no way he'd let anything dangerous come anywhere near you.
when things had grown quiet and peaceful in the town, you and derek spent nearly all of your time together. you found comfort in one another. it was natural the way you two seemed to be which only strengthened your feelings for each other.
the way you guys took care of each other surely didn't go unnoticed by the pack. especially with the way derek seemed to put you before himself. if you were anxious for any reason he'd pause anything he was doing to help you calm down. if you were not feeling well he would do into instinct overdrive and cater to you until you were feeling better. if a guy was making you uncomfortable, derek wouldn't think twice before stepping in to intervene, embedding a deep fear into anyone who seemed threatening to you.
