YOU ALWAYS HATED FIGHTING WITH DEREK. it didn't matter what the two of you were going back and forth about. whether it was something stupid or not, you just hated arguing with him. it caused you so much anxiety and you hated it. not because of the fact of fighting, no, it was mainly because you always had that fear of derek leaving you whenever you two fought.
he was well aware of how bad your anxiety often got when you two argued. he knew how badly your previous relationship was and why you were the way you were. you didn't trust easily and needed quite a bit of reassurance when you got too engrossed in your thoughts. he didn't mind giving you all the reassurance you needed. especially because he needed reassurance for himself as well.
lately he's been distant making you dive in too deep into your thoughts. you certainly didn't want to assume anything as derek was the most loyal person. except he's been coming home late a night after you fall asleep and he's gone before you wake up. he texts you a few times throughout the day to make sure you're okay. other than that, you guys have barely seen each other and the last few times he's brushed you off when you wanted to spend time with him.
you were beginning to think he was getting bored of you and just didn't want to be with you anymore. you tried to not let the mere thought bother you but it was the most painful thing for you. you loved derek so much, more than you could ever imagine, and to know he could possibly not want to be with you anymore killed you. losing derek was your greatest fear. you couldn't imagine a world where he wasn't apart of it.
it also didn't help with this new mercenary helping the pack with something. her and derek were also spending a lot of time together trying to track whatever it was lurking in the town. you couldn't help but worry maybe derek found someone better, stronger, and tougher than you. maybe he wanted to be with someone who could defend themselves and didn't battle with anxiety a lot of the time.
you tried so hard not to worry but you couldn't help it. you didn't want to lose derek at all, especially not to another woman. he didn't know but you often felt insecure of her. she seemed to match derek perfectly and you hated every bit of it. he was yours but lately, it didn't seem like it. especially since he was spending all his time with her.
