DEREK HALE WAS SOMEONE YOU ALWAYS TRIED TO SHY AWAY FROM. there wasn't anything bad about him that made you stay away from him. it's just the fact after he'd given you the bite in order to save your life, he treats you way different than any of his other betas. he wouldn't let you do anything he would let them do. whenever there was a threat, you were always left out from helping. you always were the one left at derek's loft while they were out hunting for any creatures. he never let you do anything.
though he always made sure to help you. he never left your side during the full moons while you were still adjusting to being a werewolf. he helped you find an anchor to keep you in control of your wolf side. despite him helping you as much as he does, he still finds a way to leave you out of things. you were part of the pack, his pack but he made you feel like you weren't.
you felt like you were an outsider.
you just wanted to feel included and truly a member of his pack. it wasn't fair you were the one constantly excluded. the only thing derek let you did is research. when it came to hunting, tracking, or even fighting it was a huge no from derek. it bothered you, especially when he let erica, isaac, and boyd do the things he wouldn't let you do.
you felt like you needed to prove yourself to him. from the way he acts with you quite often, made you wonder if he hated you. some times he seemed to care, but most times he didn't seem to. all his attention went to everyone else, including scott's pack. the only time he was ever really there for you was when he first turned you and during full moons.
now you tried to keep as much distance from him as possible, only going to him when you absolutely needed to. other than that you tried to avoid him as much as possible. it was quite hard though as you lived with him in his loft.
you wish you could understand derek. you were aware of his traumatic past which helped you be aware of why he is the way he is. but you wanted to see more of him. you wanted to be close to him to feel like part of the pack. he took you in when you were all alone and gave you a sense of hope. it just didn't last long as he consistently left you out of pack ordeals. so because of this you kept to yourself in your own bubble. you did everything as you normally do while trying not to let it all get to you.
it's been quiet in beacon hills for a while so everything seemed to be at peace. there was nothing to worry about. everyone in the pack were off doing their own normal business. you weren't sure where derek was or if he was even around. not that you cared anyway.
