YOU TRIED SO HARD TO NOT BE JEALOUS AND KEPT REMINDING YOURSELF THERE WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. of course you knew derek wouldn't do anything to jeopardize your guys' relationship. the two of you shared such a special bond and connection nothing could ever ruin that. he's always made it very clear through his words and actions that he never wants to be without you. all he ever wanted, needed, was you and to love you forever. you two took such care of each other. you brought him such warmth and love there was no way it would ever be taken away from him.
but lately things were different. he's been quite distant from you as he's too busy training with some hot mercenary named braeden. at first you didn't mind it, knowing derek needed to learn more self defense after all the damage the latest threat caused. though it's gotten to the point where he's been blowing you off for her, coming up with the same excuse of the training taking longer.
he doesn't spend the night at your place anymore, he hasn't really spoken much to you, and whenever you try to make plans to see him he brushes you off. this hurt you worse than you even thought or imagined. all you needed right now more than ever was some reassurance but you weren't sure if that would happen.
you were craving the comfort of your mate's arms around you, holding you close and safely at night. you were longing for him to whisper sweet nothings in your ear and leaving soft kisses along the skin of your neck. you missed derek so much and it hurt you more and more the longer there was distance between you two.
you finally decided enough if enough and go over to his loft to see him, and hopefully knock some sense into him. you left him a message telling him you needed to see and talked to him. it bothered you for him to be working so closely with another girl and having him ditch you for her. you hated how jealous you sounded but at this point it wasn't fair. it had been weeks since you got any time with him.
derek was someone who always wanted you with him or him to be wherever you were. if he went one day without you he'd be all over the place and constantly calling you to make sure you were okay. he's always been too intent with keeping you safe and taken care of. now you didn't understand how easy it was for him to just practically be as distant as he was from you. the pain fell so deep. you needed him more than ever.
