Leaving Encanto

(Part 2!! At this point in time we have moved on from he gift ceremony by a couple months - any suggestions are welcome!)

It was a couple months after the gift ceremony and you were sitting with the triplets in Casita eating a batch of burnt cookies made by Julieta.

"Why are the cookies so dark?" Pepa asked spitting a bite of hers out onto the plate with the cookies on it. 

" I don't know!" Julieta said loudly, clearly offended. " but now that lightning zap in your arm is gone." 

Bruno jut sat silently nibbling away at his cookie so Julieta wouldn't be mad at him too.

You carefully slid your cookie back onto the plate without Julieta noticing and watched the two sisters arguing.

A dark cloud filled the room as the two girls started to whack each other in turns. You ducked underneath the table for cover with Bruno.

Alma ran into the room and pulled the two girls apart with a couple shouts.

"Stop it both of you!" She yelled grabbing both of their wrists in each hand. "Pepa go calm down and Julieta go to the kitchen and clean up the mess you made!"

Both girls started to complain but Alma cut them off. "Now!" She said sternly. She released their wrists and both girls trudged off in different directions.

You glanced at Bruno who was still nibbling his cookie awkwardly. "Do you want to go outside?" You asked him.

Bruno scratched the back of his head before nodding. You both climbed out from underneath the table and ran outside happily.

Casita shut the doors behind you as you ran around the side of the house. "Hey Y/N look over there." Bruno said tapping your shoulder and pointing down the path that leads to town.

You looked over and spotted your Mama and Papa walking up to the house. They both reached Casita and Casita opened the doors for them. Bruno and you peered around the corner of the house and saw Alma greeting your parents.

They exchanged a few words before Alma led them inside. Bruno and you exchanged a mischievous grin before running inside to eavesdrop.

You both pressed your ears to Alma's door and held your breaths to hear better.

"Laila's sister just showed up in town out of nowhere, she said she wanted us to go with her to her new town go meet her family." You heard your Papa say through the door.

Bruno looked at you in confusion and you just shrugged not knowing what it meant either.

"Does that mean you're leaving Encanto?" Alma asked.

"We think... maybe for a few years." Your Mama said.

"We will all miss you Laila and Marcos but what about Y/N?" Alma asked, her voice muffled by the door.

"Well we hope Y/N won't mind since it is for family." Your Papa said.

You broke away from the door and fled downstairs almost tripping over your own feet.

I don't want to leave! This isn't fair! You thought whilst running down the path back to the town.

"Y/N WAIT!" Bruno yelled from behind you. You ignored him and kept running. You had reached the edge of the town and you fled back to your house.

You ran upstairs into your bedroom and slammed the door shut behind you. You felt a little bit bad for not waiting for Bruno but you knew you were going on cry.

And you preferred to cry on your own. 

~one week later~

You stood motionless on the brick path of the small town as your Papa led over 2 horses. The other 30 or 40 people from the town stood around to say goodbye. Julieta, Pepa and Bruno all came over to you looking upset.

A heavy rain surrounded you as Pepa got closer and gave you a tight hug. "I'll see you soon." She said stepping back so Julieta could hug you too. 

"Yeah we"ll see you soon!" Julieta agreed.

Bruno shuffled over and gave you an awkward hug. "I'll miss you." He said, taking a step back.

"I'll miss you too." You said.

All the triplets suddenly pulled you into a group hug and the rain became a little lighter.

Your Mama came over and took your hand gently. Your Papa took you into his arms and lifted you up onto one of the horses.

"Bye.." You said with a small wave to the triplets.

"Bye." They replied in unison. Your Mama climbed up into your horse and your Papa pulled himself up onto the other one. 

You looked back at the horses carried you away from Encanto. You blinked once before turning back to face forward.

You looked up at the mountain and couldn't help but wonder when you would end up coming back. 

(That's the end of part 2!! I hope you liked it and there won't be anything about the relatives town - it will automatically time skip to 11 years later when they are all 16!)
