(Back to write unfortunately another time constraints chapter. Have to be back on the road in 35 minutes to make it to the new house on time 🤌)Y/n's POV
You rolled onto your side with a wince, the previous day was kind of a soggy blur. You slowly opened your eyes and let them adjust to the light. After a couple of moments you became aware of a pain in your right arm.
You sucked in a sharp breath when you suddenly remembered plummeting down the edge of a cliff. You sat up with a painful jolt and looked around.
You were in a small unfamiliar room, with a closet against one wall and a window on the other. The bed you were lying in was the only other thing in the room besides you of course.
You pulled the sheets back and slowly stood up. You looked over to see your clothes hung on the window sill so they could dry out. You went over and picked up your dry clothes suddenly becoming very aware that somebody had changed your clothes.
You quickly changed and walked over to the door of the room and hesitated a moment before opening it silently. You looked out of the door and saw a small hallway lined with a couple doors.
You stepped out of the room and made your way to the end of the hallway. As you neared the door you heard voices talking on the other side. You bit your lip nervously before knocking on the door.
"Hello?" You called. The sound of footsteps approached the other side of the door and opened it. A boy that looked very familiar peered at you before letting you out of the hallway.
"Thanks.." You said with a shy grin. You walked past him and into a room with two other people in it. Sitting in an old looking armchair was a tall, burly man, with a thick brown beard.
Standing up next to a matching chair was another girl who looked familiar the same way the boy did. "Oh good your awake!" She said, coming towards you.
She reached out to touch your sore arm but you flinched away immediately. "So I guess it was a really bad break.." She mumbled.
"So how are you feeling?" The boy who had opened the door asked. "We'll uh.. fine I guess." You replied.
"Oh yeah well except that I don't know you, where I am or why I'm here." You finished bluntly. "So yeah, fine."
"Oh well we fished you out of the river a few hours ago." The boy said. "You were clinging to an old log and your arm was all messed up too." The girl added.
"Then I bandaged it for you!" The boy said with clear pride in his voice. "Oh well, thank you for that." You said. You tried to look back on yesterday's events but all you could remember was slipping and plummeting down a cliff into darkness.
But there was something else too. You could remember the way Bruno cried out when you fell and the way he threw you his ruana.
You bit your lip again and looked around the room. "We'll do you know where you live?" The girl asked. You nodded, "I live in Encanto." You said with certainty.
"Encanto?!" The boy said jumping up quickly from where he had sat down. The man in the armchair turned to watch you with sudden curiosity.
"Yes... you know Encanto?" You asked in slight surprise. "Oh of course we do!" The boy said suddenly taking your left hand and shaking it. "Just so you know my name is Mateo but you can call me Mat if you wanna!"
You nodded, "My name is Y/n." You said with another smile. "And my older sisters name is Katia!" He said pointing to his sister.
"We'll do you guys think you can let me stay until my arm gets just a little bit better?" You asked hopefully. "Well that's up to Papa.." Mateo said with a worried look flickering across his face.
You looked over to the man in the chair who simply nodded. You grinned. "Thank you!" You said, taking Mateos hand and pulling him into a hug out of excitement.
A brief pain shot up your arm but you shrugged it off knowing that when you got back to Encanto Julieta could heal you. Mateo pulled away looking flustered and you frowned suddenly realising what you'd done.
"Oh sorry- I usually do that with someone when I get excited- they just aren't here right now." You said with a small sniff.
"No no no! I mean- you can hug me that's fine!" Mateo said in a rushed voice. You smiled slightly and nodded. "Well I'm going to go look around outside.." You said before Katia grabbed your left arm and shook her head.
"We live in a house in the middle of nowhere, you'd get hurt or lost on your own." She said. "So I can go with her!" Mateo offered.
Katia considered it for a moment before signing. "Okay fine but if you get her hurt anymore I am so going to rip your hair out." She threatened.
"Okay okay!!" He said defensively. "Just not the face!" Katia scoffed and walked over to a door and opened it, letting a burst of bright light into the room.
You walked outside, following Mateo. "Thanks for coming with me." You said with a smile. He nodded. "It's fine!"
"Hey I have somewhere to show you!" He said leading you into a thicker part of the forest. "You won't regret this!"
Bruno's POV
I continued to walk along the river bank after hours of searching and calling, refusing to give up on Y/n. I was starting to get tired when I noticed something disturbing to the flow of the river. I reached in a tried to tug it out but I realised that it was the log Y/n had been on.
I looked around and called out y/n's name. I ran back a couple minutes along the river and climbed onto a raised log that had fallen over the river.
I shouted out their name again before climbing back off the log onto the other side of the river. I paused and looked down, spotting a set of footprints, dented into the grass.
I narrowed my eyes and looked up.
"I'm coming." I said, starting to follow the footprints.
(I surprised myself with how much I got done but okay! I did that! Anyways I hope you enjoyed the chapter, there might be a couple mistakes in the writing that I'll fix later.💗)
