Caught in a net

(Okay so I am trying to keep the updates as frequent as possible so don't hate me for taking over 8 hours to write a new chapter 😅)

Bruno's POV

I stumbled through the forest, whacking away the plants in my way. Occasionally screaming at random spiders. (I'm not proud to say that).

I followed the footsteps for 20 minutes before I stumbled over a rope, tied over the track. I shrieked as a net suddenly came up from beneath me and trapped me in the air.

I struggled for a couple moments to get upright and looked down at the ground. It was definitely further away than I would've hoped.

"HEY! SOMEBODY HELP ME!" I shouted as loud as I could. Suddenly the sound of footsteps reached me ears and I shouted louder.

I know that I was trapped but whoever was coming was my only way to escape.

The only way I could find Y/n.

Y/n's POV

You were following Mateo when somebody shouted out for help. Mateo stopped before beginning to move on but something about the voice was very familiar.

"Mateo.." You started. "Call me Mat." He interrupted with a smile. You nodded and continued, "Mat.. can we go see who needs help?" You asked with a frown.

He paused before nodding and changing directions. You followed him closer to the yells and you broke through a thick patch of bushes to see somebody caught up in a net.

"HELP- oh wait thank goodness you.. Y/N!?" The person caught up in the net yelled, slipping and fumbling to get back upright.

You squinted up and gasped. "BRUNO!" You yelled, rushing forward to try and help him. "Mateo you have to let him down!!" You yelled, throwing out your left arm desperately.

Mateo frowned and looked up at Bruno with uncertainty. "You know him...?" He asked. "Yeah! That's Bruno!" You said.

Mateo shrugged before clambering up a nearby tree, disappearing into the leaves. After a few moments of rustling Bruno's net suddenly dropped and he let out a shriek at the sudden shock of the fall.

You rushed over to help untangle him and he jumped to his feet. You lifted your left arm to cup his cheek and you leant your forehead against his. He placed his hand over yours and looked down at your bandaged arm.

"I was so scared- I thought I'd lost you.." Bruno mumbled, stroking the back of your head. You nodded against his forehead.

"Uh.. so you two definitely know each other." Mateo said, standing a bit away from the you and Bruno awkwardly.

You both ignored him as you reached up and kissed Bruno. You both stood there kissing until Mateo cleared his throat and you broke apart.

"Well uh I guess you're here to bring Y/n back to Encanto now." Mateo said, scratching the back of his head just like Bruno does.

"Well I mean.." Bruno started glancing at you. "Don't worry I want to go back." You said with a small smile.

"But my Mama almost killed you on that cliff.." Bruno said and you frowned, all the memories suddenly coming back from earlier.

"Oh my god... she did." You mumbled. He nodded looking slightly confused. "Well I still need to go back. I still WANT to go back." You assured him.

He nodded and Mateo suddenly stepped forward. "Do you think... you could bring me too.. well and my sister, papa and mama." He added hastily.

"You have a mama?" You asked a little surprised. He nodded, "She was asleep when you woke up." He explained. "Life is just so... not what she wanted, not what any of us wanted really, so please?"

Bruno nodded in agreement and Mateo's face lit up in excitement. "But we should head out now, getting back as soon as possible is the smart option for us right now." Bruno said.

"Wait here! I'll get Papa, Mama and Katia!" He said, rushing off. You turned to Bruno and he turned to you. You both stood there for a moment before Bruno leant in and kissed you again.

You closed your eyes and sunk into the kiss happily. After a moment Bruno broke away and took your hand in his. "This time when we go to Encanto, can you and I be together... officially..?" He asked with a nervous smile.

You nodded and kissed his cheek. He picked you up by the waist and spun you around with a laugh. He placed you back down and brushed a strand of hair from your face.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you too."
