(Van Brunt is the only form of name I could find for him.)
You lived deep in the Western Woods but were not unknown to the people of Sleepy Hollow, you sold flowers from your own garden and it was beautiful and it only flourishes even more each day. It brightened up the little town and Mary Van Tassel formally Mary archer did enjoy your flowers especially for her little remedies or her witchcraft too, her stepdaughter Katrina found out your little vampiric secret however. She saw you drink from a wine glass but that was no red wine, funny enough she didn't question who's blood but offered to use her craft to keep your vampiricness safe. She made a little charm enduced bracelet to shield all your weaknesses except for a stake to the heart, that would kill anyone in exchange you had to be her teacher in Vampire culture. Katrina found it so fascinating and of course swore to keep ypur secret, you were kind hearted and she considered you a friend after talking with her in the past when she'd come for flowers. Her Stepmother had known of your secret for sometime and supplied you with blood in exchange for special flowers you grew but lately you've been having these strange dreams. Dreams of the Horseman coming back, but not for blood for it was you he wanted the last four nights he's been chasing you, waiting outside your home, or he's cornered you by his grave. Her Stepmother Mary had noticed the last time you brought her flowers you seemed internally scared, you looked exhausted too she decided to come by your home today with some sweets she baked maybe brighten your day a little. As she got closer she heard you humming in your garden "Y/N?" She called as she went around back "Y/N dear?" She called again you stopped watering your flowers and turned around surprised to see Mary "well, afternoon Lady Van Tassel" you greet with a tired smile. "Oh dear, are you still not sleeping?" She questioned you sighed "it's nothing Mary, did you need more flowers?" You questioned "no, not just yet Y/N, but what's troubling you my dear?" She asks stepping closer to the gardens gate "I've never seen you like this" she says concerned.
"I've just been having nightmares Mary, all the talk of the Horseman supposedly killing Van Garrett is itching at my brain is all" you tell her with a sigh "oh please, the Horseman is just a legend to scare people" she tells you reassuringly. "The dreams even feel real Mary, even in my lifetime granted never did I see him but in these woods of late it's felt off" you tell her looking around the treeline worried as you lied to her you have seen the Horseman, a little too closely. "Why dont you come to the Fall celebration tonight? Have a drink or two with me, be the Pickety Witch" she suggests harmlessly like it would be fun. "Oh and you know Katrina would love it if you went" she says knowing that girl adores you "I don't know Mary..." You begin "please? You and I go back a ways Y/N, I consider you a very dear friend, you helped my sister and me remember?" She says sincerely. You sighed "I do remember, us monsters always get a bad rap but you girls were too young to get that treatment" you tell her "I remember seeing your garden for the first time, it was out of a fairy tale to me" she says with a sigh of bliss. "Now, I brought you something" Mary says hiding her excitement then the smell hits your nose "pastries?" You questioned she nodded guiltily "to bribe me?" You questioned having a feeling she hesitated "yes" she innocently says. You sighed "alright, I will take the pastries...but not as a bribe for Van Tassels party" you tell her sternly "agreed" she says handing you the little basket. "Would you like to join me for tea Mary?" You ask munching on one instantly "oh no I should be getting back..." She says unfortunate of it "how didn't I hear your horse? Did you walk?" You ask her "oh yes, I found a shortcut by accident last time but I'll see you tonight...I hope those brighten your day too Y/N" she says hopefull.
"Oh Mary you know I love seeing you, it's a shame what happened to your sister" you tell her saddened "Oh, yes... it's been hard without her" she says hiding her lie from you once she parted from your home you went inside and decided to go through your dresses as you proceeded on your pastry. And you had known the Horseman a little after he first came to this part of the world he stumbled upon your home, injured and barely could hang on to his horse begging for help. You had your fill of blood and dragged him inside after answering the door then you tied his horse up outside so he wouldn't wander off. Carefully you removed his armor eventually the clothing on his torso weakly he kept faintly whispering "thank you" like a broken record a deep wound in his shoulder and another gash on his side opposite the shoulder. You told him "you must be still if you want my help, just try and rest while I do this" you told him gently he nodded and let his eyes flutter closed but he was still breathing some stitching was needed for the wounds and luckily with your flowers and some indoor herbs nothing would get infected. You found it interesting, it was true his teeth were filed down to be razor sharp, shame he wasn't a vampire. Two days had passed and he began to wake up you changed his bandages over that time carefully he tried sitting himself up you returned to your guest room where you placed him with a special tea. He was surprised to see such a beautiful thing by herself you set the tray down to help him sit up "may I know the name of my rescuer?" He asked softly "it's Y/N, and I was wondering the day I'd come across the Hessian, only I didn't expect to find him bleeding at my doorstep" you teased. "Here, you need to drink this it'll restore yourself" you tell him, gently handing him the cup "thank you" he said tiredly "you've heard of me?" He questioned confused.
"Oh when something new comes to this side of the world it doesn't take long for word to reach" you told him looking into his piercing ice blue eyes "this tea is wonderful, what is in this?" He asks with a slight smile. "Lemon, honey, lavender..." you tell him leaving out the crows foot and the tiniest bit of nightshade in it "I feel quite better already, if there's anyway I can repay you my Lady..." He starts. "There's no need, I've fed your steed the last two days as well, he's a sweetheart" you tell him as he smiles a little and looks away from you "is it tragic an animal has been my best friend?" He asks a little embarrassed. "Not at all, I'm friends with most the animals out here even a wolf that comes by sometimes" you tell him "I feed him too" you added before drinking your own tea. And the rest of the day you had gotten to know him just as he had gotten to know you and you both fell in love with the other he of course found out your secret when you were supposedly drinking wine it definitely didn't smell it. He had accidentally drunk from your glass and wondered why in the world you were drinking blood then it clicked why you were so beautifully pale he was into monsters and partially why he filed his teeth. If he wasn't staying with you he'd visit you every night and sit in the lantern lit garden with you, it was spring when you found him and it was the greatest few months you've ever had, then winter came. You were taking a walk through the snow and it was beautiful but you heard a gunshot and a horses cry in pain that only could've meant it was your Horseman. Picking up your pace you found Daredevil dying, and later that day your lover buried beside the now tree of the dead you saw the sword handle blessing his grave and cursing his enemies for your heart shattered that day. Little Mary and her sister heard your words at his grave that had given Mary an idea then the two little girls approached you and they looked so scared, cold, and hungry. You told them it was alright and you'd get them fed they trusted you once they realized they weren't your dinner as they got older they parted ways leading up to now. You found a pretty dark orange dress to wear to match the falling leaves it would contrast to your eyes beautifully but you suddenly heard a horse outside, startling you but you had to investigate. Part of you hoped it was Daredevil, you were stunned to see it was "Daredevil? Come here pretty, don't you remember me?" You asked the large horse.
He trotted closer and rubbed your cheek with his nose making you giggle "how are you back?" You asked him happy at least one of them is here but then he lowered himself so you could get on. You were confused but did this anyway then Daredevil then took off bringing you to the tree of the dead where he rested, climbing down from the large steed and the sword remaining in the grave you sighed at the sight. "Now Daredevil why did you bring me back here?" You asked the steed then from beside the tree opposite of the grave site you didn't want to believe what you were seeing "Y/N" he said relieved with his lower voice. You hesitantly reached out for him and he smiled relieved but you began to drop to the dirt floor he rushed over and almost didn't catch you as you fainted. He sighed and hoisted you into his arms before Daredevil was ready to lead him to your home even though Van Brunt (Horseman) knew the way. "I only half expected that to be your reaction my beloved" he whispers as he carries you home, "I've missed you so much Y/N" he says weakly. As Daredevil led him, Brunt had gotten you inside and layed you carefully on your bed "I know I have much to explain, I hope you'll listen" he says softly as he gazed down at your sleeping form.
