Dalawang linggo bago magsimula yung pasukan, natuloy yung out of the country ng pamilya namin. We stayed in Singapore for two weeks, we had fun, but our brothers teased me and Justine the whole trip.

Bago magsimula yung pasukan, nagdecide kaming mag-grocery muna para bilhin yung mga ka-kailanganin namin.

"You think we need garlic powder and onion powder?" he showed me two bottles of condiments.

I shrugged. "How would I know? Just get them."

He chuckled. "How about those?" he pointed the aisle of different sauces.

"Can we really live without a helper?" I sighed, deeply.

He held my hand and intertwined our fingers. "We can. Let's just buy everything we think we might need."

"Okay," without doubts, I smiled.

"That's fifty thousand and fifty six pesos, ma'am, sir," the cashier smiled. "Lahat na po ba sa card na 'to?"

Justine nodded.

"There's no need for that," he uttered.

"Hundred thousand, I think," he took a small glance of me, then he looked infront again. "Why?"

"When Tita said that... the card is for our monthly expenses, she didn't say we won't get our separate money, right? May sarili pa rin tayong allowance?"

"I don't know," he mumbled. "That will enough, if hindi na nga nila tayo bibigyan pa."

"It will not be enough! Tapos dalawa yung babayaran natin! Sa school, may babayaran pa rin tayo."

"They paid our tuition in full already, baka mga miscellaneous na lang, like mga biglaan na bayarin," kalmado pa rin siya.

"Unbelievable! Tss, I need to call mom."

I tried calling my mom and her accountant, pero hindi ako nasagot.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm checking my account," I murmured. "Shit!

His eyes flickered with sadness. "I won't let you starve. And besides,.."

"That's not my point, of course, we won't starve, we just bought like a lot of food. Kaasar! This is ridiculous!"

"I'll buy you bags and give you money for your salon treatments," he talked like he got the situation. "I'll spoil you, relax."

"At saan ka naman kukuha? For months siguro kaya pa! I still have money on my account, pati ikaw meron pa. Pero, how long? Maasar ka lang na ang arte ko!"
