Too stunned with her news, it took me multiple blinks and shallow breaths to process her news.

"Seriously?"

She nodded, smiling like she won a lottery.

I touched her cheek, gently caressed it. "Gusto mo?"

I don't want her to force herself into something she's not totally convince she'll love. Gustuhin ko man ay kung ayaw niya ay wala akong magagawa. I learned my lesson the hard way, she slipped away from me and that's the greatest blow of my life. Losing her was my biggest downfall. Walang saysay lahat kung wala siya.

"Gusto ko. Gustong-gusto ko," hinalikan niya 'yong tungki ng ilong ko. I kissed hers, too.

"Totoo? Hindi ka napipilitan?"

Kumunot 'yong noo niya. "Ayaw mo ba sa amin?" bahagya pang ngumuso siya. "Di wag, ako na lang. Di ka din namin gusto."

Whoa, what a turn right there.

"I just don't want to inflict something you're not hundred percent sure of. Siyempre gusto ko, pero kung ayaw mo at napipilitan ka lang, tingin mo sasaya ako? Tayo?"

She cried. "Gusto ko nga eh! Ang kulit mo naman! I kept asking you, kasi gusto ko na. I see how Chloe takes care of Kale, at naiinggit akong may anak siyang naghihintay sa kanya pag-uwi. So gusto ko 'to. Hindi ako napipilitan! Mula noong nagkabalikan tayo hindi na ako nagpa-shot kahit bawal sa management 'yong ganoon! Because I really want to, I think I'm ready.... with all of my heart," her sobs doubled. "I think I'm ready. Oh no, I am ready."

Tuloy-tuloy 'yong agos ng luha niya. Pulang-pula 'yong ilong niya at mata niya. I know for a fact that her cries were accompanied by her changing hormones. Naiinis na nga siya napapangiti pa ako kaya mabilis na pagbatok ang ginawa niya.

"You're so bad! Hindi mo kami gusto!"

That got me chuckling for seconds. I kissed her lips briefly, bumangon ako at tinapat ang mukha sa kanyang tiyan.

"Behave, don't make it hard for mommy, okay?" I gently pulled up her shirt. "I love you. Mommy and I love you."

"Jus..."

"Hmm?" nag-angat ako ng tingin tungo sa kanya, hamak na titig lang din ang ginawad niya, umayos ako at humiga na lang sa tabi niya.

"Can we make it a secret muna? I'm just eight weeks kasi. Can we finish muna the first tri?"

Tumango ako. "But is it safe to travel?"

Anything you want baby. Anything. Everything you want, we'll do that.

"Yeah. I got an ultrasound before going here actually. I heard na 'yong heartbeat. Hihintayin dapat kita, kaso hindi ko na matiis eh. I thought of our lost baby, ayokong magaya na naman sa ganoon."

"May I see? Nanguha ka?"

Tumango siya at itinuro ang vanity area niya. Mabilis lang ang pagtayo ko, halos umaapaw ang galak na nararamdaman ko.

"Eight weeks na siya, so 'yong crown-rump length niya ay twenty-two millimeters na, may fingers and toes na din siya. Pati upper lip," nakangiting sabi niya habang nakatingin kami sa ultrasound scanned image na pinakita niya. She's more than enthusiastic.

"You're that excited, huh?"

She nodded, even her eyes flickered with overflowing joy. "Pero sabi ni Chloe 'wag daw masyado. But I'm so happy."
