In the morning after Azriel left, Kallista was once again awoken by a worried Alara looking at her from her the end of her bed. The princess rubbed her eyes to get the sleepiness away and looked at Alara with a frown pulling herself up to sit on the bed, it was weird because usually her friend woke her up with a laugh and teasing comments however this morning was not the case.
"Are you okay?" Kallista questioned her friend who will know won't look at her back.
"Oh, Kalli" Alara said in a sorry tone which maked the princess frown deeper, Alara stoof up and went to si beside her on the bed. The handmaiden was sad for her friend, she really thought Kallista was smarter than that, to give yourself to someone outside of marriage especially being a royal. Alara had smelt the scent in the room when she came in and mother only knows if people had enter before her. "I thought you were smarter than this"
"What are you talking about?" Kallista tried to bluff, but knew it was useless.
"Please don't do that with me, Kallista" Alara said looking at her friend, who only looked down at her lap. "What were you thinking? And being the princess Kalli"
"I wasn't thinking Alara, it just- it was so beautiful, like everyone in the world just dissapeared and it was only him and me" She said sweetly and with a twinkle in her blue eyes.
"Still Kallista you shouldn't have done it" Alara sighed she knew that her friend was blinded by the mate bond, and it was time for Alara to bring her back to the ground from the clouds she is in. But before she could there was a knock on the door, the friends looked at eachother in questioning and Alara stood up to open the door.
Behind the door a guard was standing stoic as ever "The High Lord wants to see the Princess in the throne room"
He said with a blank voice and then walked away, and Alara closed the door, they were confused normally when her father wanted to speak to Kallista he just tell Alara, so it was weird.
"Okey, um, let's get you dressed" Alara said and went into her closet, she took out a white silk dress that wa tight in her torso. While dressing Kallista thought the color was ironic to her present situation, since the color white means purity and since the afternoon the day before she was not longer pure or as the royal court would think.
But fake it 'till you make it, right?
When Alara finished braiding her hair, they directed themselves to the throne room. The castle was silent, sometimes hearing the whispers of gossip from the maids that find entertainment in the royal's hardships.
