Kallista was hangover. She had drank herself to sleep last night after over thinking her walk with the undesired presence of Azriel. Well at least Rhysand did kept his words on giving her all the wine she wanted.

A knock had woken her up from her deep sleep, making her jumó from bed to a hammering headache. She had dressed herself slowly and went to the kitchen for break fast however as she passed the living room someone called her name.

"Kallista" the voice of Rhysand called her name.

"Yes?" She groaned rubbing her temples to make the headache disappear.

"Meeting, in five minutes" he said amused by her.

"Right" she said and looked at him with a frown "I just want something for my headache"

Suddenly she felt something warm appear in her hands, she was startled when she looked down to her hands to find a steaming cup of tea in them.

"Oh"

"Yeah, oh. It seems the house likes you" Rhysand commented "anyway, follow me. The meeting is this way"

She followed him through the house while sipping on the hot tea. They walked until they reached what seemed a war room. Apparently all the inner circle was there except Mor and Feyre. Kallista had made it clear to Rhysand that she didn't want to see Feyre until she felt ready to face her. Even though she now recognized that Feyre was her friend, she still needed time.

As she dropped in the free chair at the end of the table, she looked at the new face in one of the chairs. It was a small woman with black short hair and silver eyes.

The woman looked back at her as if she couldn't understand what she was seeing. Rhysand sat at the other end of the table, his hands intertwined on top of it.

"So, are you finally going to tell me why I'm here?" She asked as she finished the tea ad left the cup at her side.

"Feyre and I went to the bone carver some days ago, he told us what we already knew, but he said, if we wanted to know everything we'll have to bring you to him" he explained.

"This is not a trap to kill me and bring him my bones, right?" She asked and noticed how the small women's lips turn into a grin.

"No, he wants to talk to you, alive" he added the last word.

"Isn't the bone carver in that awful prison?" She asked shuddering at the thought of it.

"Yes, that's we're you'll be going"

"Alone?" She questioned fear taking over her brain at the thought of it.

"With Azriel" and now she would rather go alone than with him, she felt her headache come back. "Tomorrow, there's no time to loose"

Today, she was going to see the bone carver, an immortal being, that is mother knows how long, an old god forgotten in their realm.

Yeah, she was totally fine.

She finished putting on her leathers, that someone had left on her bed when she came back from breakfast. She hadn't wore one in a long long time. It felt weird.

At least she still looked good in one.

She sighed as she sat in the bed and tied her boots as her leg bounced up and down in anxiety, she didn't know what will await for her when she entered that prison or why the bone carver wanted to especially talk to her.

Kallista walked towards one of the dressers in the room. Opening a drawer, she felt around with her hand in the corners of it, until her fingers touched the cold metal. Wrapping her hands around it she pulled it out of it's hidden place.

She looked down to see her dagger. The one that she had fought with for fifty years under the mountain. It was as beautiful as the day Azriel gave it to her, no rust or dirt on it. The princess sheated it in the holder in her tigh.

After putting her pale hair in a braid she walked out of her room, bumping into Azriel who was walking towards her.

"Oh, I was just about to go for you" he explained with a frown.

"Well, here I am" she nodded awkwardly, after their fight on the river, she has done everything to avoid him in the last days. So far, he has done nothing to 'get her back' or well not anything she knew about. He nodded back and went on his way to the stairs.

However his shadows stayed on her, dancing on her shoulders and hair. She smiled as they dance around her hair making it float as if it was under water.

"I missed you too" she muttered to the shadows. Kallista looked up to find Azriel looking at her with a small smile. She hid hers and walked forwards.

They walked until they arrived to the balcony where they would take off to the shores of the prison and then they would hike all the way to it. She felt Azriel's grip on her signaling that they were about to take off.

"Ready?"

"Is someone really ready?" She replied and when she heard him chuckle, she felt as Azriel and her went into the sky impulsed by his strong wings.

They flew in silence, Azriel relishing on Kallista's presence and Kallista trying to not concentrate on his, and looking at the clouds that grayed as they neared the prison.

She felt a shiver run down her spine when she turned her head and looked at the rocky island, surrounded by water and mist. Azriel landed. They landed on the cold, barren looking ground. The princess looked at the top of the mountain where the prison sat, a hollow silence surrounding them.

It smelled like wet rock, memories from her time trapped in those four rock walls came back to her. Without her knowing her breathing started to rapidly come in short gasps and white noise in her ears until she felt two warm hands on her face.

"Hey, Kallista" his voice broke through the veil her mind had put on her, her vision was still blurred alternating between memories and reality. "Breathe, focus on my voice. You are having a panic attack, focus on my voice"

As he advised she focused on him, the way his voice was the lowest and deepest voice she had ever heard in her entire life, how it always managed to wake up something she had buried deep inside her for years.

Her breathing calmed, as his hazel eyes started to look clearer in front of her.

"You are okay. I won't let anything happen to you, while we are inside. You are safe with me. They won't touch a hair on your head, I'll made you of that" he announced and she nodded, he took his hands away from her, but instead of moving away, she took one of her pale hands and took it in his.

Kallista was about to pull her hand away from his grip, she hesitated. She knows she would need something to hold her while she is inside.

So, without acknowledging his grip she breathed in deeply before stepping forward on the sharp rocks leading to the entrance.
