"Where are you going?" Kallista asked when she came out of the bathroom with wet hair and saw him with his leathers ready to leave the house.

"I have to accompany Feyre, she wants to go to the Sidra" he explained.

"And do you have to really go? Didn't Rhysand said you weren't her bodyguard?" The princess said annoyed. He had been distant since they came back from the human lands, their only comfort was that damned book that no one was close to figure it out what it said, and he had been acting like the loyal bodyguard of the Night Court, she knew that she was being difficult and annoying but wasn't it supposed to be like this? Annoyed because her mate wanted to spend more time with Feyre than with her?

"You know it's not like that, Kallista" he sighed, the Illyrian knew his absence was not comforting to her, that it brought back bad memories of their past that both of them tried to forget or ignore, but he couldn't just let Feyre go around, she was his High Lord's mate, a part of his family now.

"Whatever, I'm going for a walk you can accompany me or Feyre, your choice" Kallista got dressed as fast as she could and got out of the house, as she was being stubborn and ignored Azriel, she now had to climb down a lot of stairs.

"At least let me fly you down, it'll be well past midnight when you finish climbing down the stairs" Azriel said to her as he imagined the slender woman trying to climb down the ten thousand steps of the house.

"How kind of you to offer five minutes to fly me down out of your full schedule to take care of Feyre, I would be very pleased to accept" she said sarcastically but still moved to climb the stairs to the roof.

He sighed and follows her up, until they were in the roof and she waited for him at the edge of the building. The raven haired man wrapped his arms around her waist before he took flight.

It had been hot and cold with her. One moment they were a real couple or something near it because neither of them were ready to actually accept the bond, and the other moment she was cold at him. He could never do anything right.

The flight to get her old the house was short and as soon as his feet touch the ground she was out of his arms.

"I'll see you later, then" and before he could say anything she had disappeared between the sea of people.

He wanted to hit his head on a wall, he was a spymaster, he was trained to understand all kinds of behavior but for the life of him he couldn't understand her.

She was walking around the city, she didn't know where exactly she was nor did she care.

Kallista was starting to miss everything outside of the Night Court. She missed the Winter, her home, the castle where she grew up in, the white woods. Everything.

But overall, she missed her friends. Helion most of all. She hadn't seen him since she agreed to go with Rhysand, and for nothing. Yeah, there had been progress with her powers but nothing else.

She thought hard about her life here for some time when suddenly, she felt something shifting. In the air, something was going to happen.

The princess looked towards the horizon, squinting her eyes scanning the sky for something when she saw it.

They were in the sky flying towards them, at first she thought they might be illyrians  but as the flock got nearer much to her horror she realized she was wrong.

And suddenly everyone around her was screaming and running but she stayed rooted to her place as people pushed and shoved around her, she recognized the creatures now, they hunted her nightmares still.

She could never escaped them, all long-limbed, gray-skinned, with serpentine snouts and razor-sharp teeth, they were the true monsters of the night that the humans should fear not tue fae.

A red shield appeared in the sky to give the people a chance to run, she recognized it as Cassian's. She could hardly stayed still as other fought when she had strong powers capable of killing them.

She killed hundreds of them when she escaped, she could do it once again.

Finally out of her mind, she got on the stance that she had practiced thousands of times with Amren and summoned her power.

Ice blue flowed in her hands and as soon as she felt the power flowing, she looked towards the sky. The Attor were descending on them, attacking the people and taking them.

As soon as she saw one of the creatures coming straight to her, she shot it out of the sky.

Kallista watched with satisfaction as the creature screeched and fell to the blue sea, and more fell after that one, as Kallista protected the people around her.

They were thousands of them with only one mission, kill whatever moved. She kept aiming her powers towards the deformed birds in the sky and then successfully killing them, but there were too many but suddenly the familiar blue of Azriel appeared in the sky above her.

The pale haired girl got distracted for just one second but that second was enough for one of the creatures to barrel into her. She was pushed to the ground harshly the dark fae above her. With both of her hands she stopped it from biting her face off.

With a hard kick she pushed it off her and then blasted him dead with her powers. She breathed heavily as she sat on the stone street, finally the people had run to safety, but from the far screaming she still heard there were still much more. Kallista started standing up but hissed at a sharp pain, she looked down and watched a slice on her leg that was starting to pour out a bit of blood.

"Kallista!" She heard her name being called and looked up to find Azriel flying down to her. "Are you alright? I saw that thing push down-"

"I'm fine, don't worry" she stood up still with her wounded leg.

"Are you sure?" Azriel stopped by grabbing her wrist. "You are bleeding, Kallista, you are not alright"

"I have sustained worst injuries" she tried to get out of his grip but was interrupting when his arms pulled her up until she was being carried like a bride. "Was this really necessary?"

"Yes, you are very stubborn"
