"The small woman in the meeting, who is she?" Kallista asked as they were crawled on their hands and knees up the steep mountain.

"Amren? No one really knows what she is" he replied "She is much older than Phrythian, and it is said that she comes from different realm"

"She's not from here?" Kallista asked surprised, Azriel shook his head in reply.

"No, and she was held in this same prison because of it"he explained as he helped her climb a particularly steep rock.

"They feared her" it was meant to be a question but it came out more as a statement, maybe because she knew what it was like, being feared because of your power. Her own brother had exiled her from her home because he feared her.

They finally arrived to the top and were met with a wall in front of them. Kallista breathed in deeply before taking her dagger out of its holder. From her side vision she saw Azriel look down at the dagger with a shock look, and then at her with something floating around his eyes.

"Don't look so surprised" Kallista said.

"I would've thought you threw it away"

"I would never throw away a dagger as strong as this one has served me for fifty years, no matter who gave it to me" she explained, turning to look at him "anyway, I don't think I can't climb bare rock like that"

"And you would not have to" Azriel said as he put his hand flat against the rock, and seconds later the wall had vanished revealing pale, carved gates, so high she couldn't even see where they ended.

The bone gates opened silently, revealing a cavern behind, Kallista gripped her dagger tighter and summoned a ball of blue light as she felt a warm hand at her back.

"Remember, breathe" he said in her ear "I'm here"

"Why are they no guards?" She asked looking at him.

"They only emerge at feeding time or to deal with prisoners, they are shadows" he explained and nudged her forward to start walking.

Kallista looked around, all too curious to see how this place was like, even though every time she saw another jagged rock that looked like it had been scratched with claws bile rose up her throat. Suddenly her lights shut off making her almost stumble on her own feet, her free hand unconsciously went to grip Azriel's as she tried to control her breathing. He squeezed her hand in assurance as they walked through the dark.

"How long was Amren in here?" Kallistas asked as she decided she couldn't bare the hollow silence any longer.

"I looked into the archives once, all I could find was a vague mention that she went in before Phrythian even split in it's courts. If I had to guess, a few millennia" he answered and Kallista couldn't believe it, fifty years seemed like an eternity, she couldn't imagine being locked up for millennia. She shivered once again at the thought of it. "Just a bit farther"
