Azriel was called away, he wanted to stay with Kallista after they did what they did, but Rhysand send him a message saying there was urgent matters on the night court, so he had to leave not matter how much he wanted to stay, but after all he had swore an oath to his court and he felt lost he didn't know what to do after all they have just done.

So he left with a kiss goodbye.

Arriving at the house of wind, he then walked to Rhysand's office there, when he entered almost all of the inner circle was there with the exception of Amren who always chose to stay on her apartment and not deal with those 'arbitrary topics'.

Cassian smirked when he smelled a woman on him, Morrigan's face was unreadable and Rhysand had a calm exterior. "Good, you are here"

"Judging by his scent I don't think he wants to be here" Cassian said smuggly with a mischiveous grin. The shadowsinger ignored him, nodded towards Rhysand and took a seat besides Mor.

Rhysand paced in front of them behind his desk, "There has been sightings of dark fairies around the night court"

There was a silence around the room, the threat has now become more real than before however now that the threat was looming over the night court and they will always protect their home.

"The camps are already preparing for an eminent war" Cassian interjected all trace of fun gone of his face. Azriel felt guilty he had been all this weeks focused on Kallista that he basically neglected his work on the night court.

"Well will need everyone fighting against this" Rhysand stated finally sitting down on his chair, "What about the Court of Nightmares?"

Mor looked at him at the mention of her old home "I can go tomorrow, if someone comes with me"

"Azriel will go with you" Rhysand said, said man furrowed his eyebrows in confusion he had to go to the Winter Court with Kalli again tomorrow. "There's going to be a High Lord meeting in two weeks, I hope we can actually do something in this one"

The high lord saw the expression of Az and his lips pursed, he sent a message to Cassian and Mor that he wanted to speak to the shadowsinger alone.

When both of their friends had gone out of the room, Rhysand look at his brother with empathy and Azriel was even more confused, not even his shadows knew what was happening.

"The high lord of Winter has decided to stop your training session with his daughter and has forbidden for you to ever see her again or look for her again" He said not looking at his friend. Azriel was silent and his shadows were quiet not whispering in his ear for once.

"What?" He silently questioned his friend.

"Apparently the high lord has discovered your frolicking with his daughter and he did not like it" Rhysand explained standing up from his seat, going around on his desk and leaning on it in front of Azriel.

"Did you accept? Did you had anything to do with me being forbidden to see my mate" Azriel said roughly looking at him through narrowed eyes, his shadows growing bigger.

"I'm sorry, my friend, but I had to we already have a war in our hands and having bad ties with the Winter court will make this even more difficult, even so I thought given your attitude towards her, you will be happy for this" Rhysand said the last sentence tauntingly, and Azriel's nose flared.

"That's not true" Azriel muttered, yes he was still confused towards his feeling s with the princess, but he was going to try, Mor still captivated his thoughts from time to time, he had given his heart away years ago and he did not know if there was anymore more to give for Kallista even though now the necklace she had given him that day at the lake burned beneath his leathers.

"I really am sorry brother, but there is nothing I can do anymore" Rhysand sighed and went back to his seat. The spymaster got out of the room in a flurry of emotions, his shadows were going crazy as he walked around the house of wind.

How could them?

No

How dare them? Try and separate her from him.

He transported in his shadows to the Court of Nightmares he had fairies to torture and fury to get rid of. Two birds with one stone.

...

It was late a night and he was thinking about Kallista again and the weird feeling where he longed to be in her arms once more, her comforting mint scent surrounding them.

He opened his door to find Mor in her night clothes, his heart thudded against his chest but not at the same intensity it had before.

"Hello Azriel"

"Mor? Do you need something?" He questioned his brows furrowed at her presence so late in the night.

"I just wanted to check up on you, you seemed mad when you got out of Rhysand's office" Mor explained and entered his room.
"Did something happened?"

"Nothing important" he closed the door and turned to look at her.

"Come on, you can tell me" she sat on his bed.

"Just that I'm no longer going to be training Kalli- the princess" Azriel corrected rapidly.

"But isn't it a good thing? I thought you didn't like it there"

"I-I think so, yes"

"Whatever, i think is good for all of us that you stopped going there, you were more distracted than normal"

"Probably I was tired of the training"

"You tired" she repeated giggling. And Azriel was hypnotized by the blonde beauty once more.
