"I think you're lost."
"I am not lost."
Benicia shut her eyes and pulled her phone out of her pocket. Rhea had been going in circles since they had gotten into Humboldt County. She kept swearing up and down that the map was telling her to go this way. But it kept leading her to dead ends.
"Stop-" Benicia finally opened a completely different map and pointed, "Pull over for just a second."
"Okay."
Benicia pinched the bridge of her nose before leaning in close to Rhea to show her the directions, "It has you going to the correct spot but taking you down the wrong roads. You need to go down this road here and then take a left turn. Then it looks like you just have to travel up this winding road and the cabin should be there at the end of it."
"Oh, my God. This is why I love you." Rhea, without warning, grabbed Benicia's face and gave her a sloppy kiss on the cheek.
Recoiling immediately, Benicia rubbed at her cheek with her palm, "Yeah, yeah, I love you too. Drive."
Foggy stared between the two of them, "You guys must be pretty close, huh?"
"We've known each other for so long it'll be impossible for us to not be close." Rhea explained as she followed Benicia's directions. "But... we're kind of missing all of high school and college together. So we've got a long time to make up."
"It's fortunate that you found each other after so long." Matt added something to the conversation, "Isn't it?"
"Agreed." Zoe hummed from the back as she pulled away from Karen a little bit to lean forward, "It's actually really awesome being with each other again."
Benicia gripped the armrest by the door as Rhea took a sharp turn on a hill. She exhaled and turned her head back to look at them all. She didn't say anything, but wanted to see if anyone else was a little tense from the sharp turns that Rhea took all the time. Zoe seemed distracted enough by Karen to not notice or at least not vocalize it just yet. Plus, these turns weren't bad yet.
"Oooh!" Rhea gaped happily and pressed a little more on the gas at the sight of the cabin. She pulled up in front of the front door and reversed and adjusted so she was parked parallel to the front door. "We're here!"
Foggy cleared his throat as he adjusted himself in his seat. He straightened his back and glanced at the others, who were also bracing things after Rhea pulled in like that. "I think we can tell."
Rhea didn't even register what happened. She turned the engine off and stuffed the keys into her pockets. "Okay, so I say we get all situated and then a few of us can hit the grocery store."
"It's seven."
Benicia popped the door open beside her and stuck her legs out of the vehicle, "We still need food and stuff. Rhea, are there keys for the cabin?"
