Benicia dropped her duffel bag on her couch as she folded up some clothes. She looked up at her friends, who were all very against what she was currently doing. But Benicia knew better. It didn't matter who she was to Fisk. Whether he actually viewed her as a daughter way back when or as some kid he practically fostered for a moment. She was an adult now. And she had admitted to killing his best friend.
"You don't have to run." Rhea offered as she wiped under her eyes, "Hi-Hiding is an option."
"I don't think it is, Rhea." Benicia zipped her duffel bag closed, "Not after what I said to Fisk."
"You-" Karen furrowed her brows, "You didn't have to do this for me Benny..."
"I promised that I'd keep you safe." Benicia smiled over at her friend.
"Where would you go?"
Benicia laughed as she moved away to grab some more things, "I don't know. But I wouldn't bother paying the rent like we did for Matt."
"Come on..." Foggy mumbled, "You'll be back."
Benicia shook her head, "Foggy, Fisk is never gonna stop hunting me."
"Then don't run or hide. Do what I did." Foggy tried, he was doing his best to get her to stay, "Make yourself so public he can't touch you."
"I can't." Benicia told him, "Your campaign has kept you out of his crosshairs. But... I admitted to killing his BFF."
"Fair point."
"So I am running. But not after I tell Matt that I completely fucking betrayed him." Benicia dropped down on her couch and covered her face with her hands, "Fuck..."
"Benny..." Rhea whispered as she moved over to sit beside her, "He can't actually know that for sure. You didn't say anything."
"I didn't have to." Benicia turned her head to look at Rhea, "He knew. He-He just had this look on his face that told me everything. I barely faltered. I-I just paused and that was enough."
Rhea watched as Benicia pulled her cards out of her wallet and set them on the table, "Benny..."
Benicia turned her head to see each of them holding out cash to her, "No... I can't-"
"You can and you fucking will." Zoe huffed out as she forced Benicia to take the cash in her hands, "Thank you... I-Thank you."
Benicia swallowed and looked at her friends before bringing them in for a hug. Each of them surrounded her and just stood there for a couple of moments. Just a couple before Benicia slowly pulled herself away from them. She just sent them a sad smile, "You guys got this. I'm sure you'll figure something out to get him."
"God, this sucks."
Benicia shrugged her shoulders, "It's okay. I can handle myself."
