Benicia, oddly enough, was given a key to Matt's apartment by Fran. Who had not told her when the key came from other than the fact that she had it. She didn't particularly ask either, but was quite amused at the thought. Benicia just assumed that it was the spare key and that Fran stole it.
Unlocking the door, Benicia silently slipped into Matt's apartment, "Matt."
"Benicia?"
"Yes." Benicia set her bag down on the side table next to the door, "I think Fran stole your spare because she gave me one. Said I'd need it since she thinks I take care of you."
Matt laughed from inside his room, "Sounds like her."
"I'll leave it on your kitchen counter." Benicia called out to him as she set it down, "You can do what you want with it."
"No, keep it." Matt came walking out with his collar popped up as wrapped his tie around his neck, "I'm just about ready."
"Ah..." Benicia stared at him for a moment before quickly grabbing the key and stuffing it into her pocket. "Here, let me help you with that."
"Oh, thanks."
Benicia reached up and tugged at his tie, which made him crouch down a little bit, "I'm sorry."
Matt chuckled but kept himself bent to reach her height better, "It's okay."
She ran her hands over the tie as she straightened it out first. "How are you feeling?"
"Ah-I-I'm feelin better." Matt answered, "I'm just... recovering."
"Mm." Benicia hummed with an amused grin as she started to finally tie it, "From what?"
"I don't really know the name for it." Matt chuckled off her question, but he knew that Benicia knew that he wasn't being entirely truthful. Yet she didn't push it.
"But..." Benicia whispered as she pulled the bottom of the tie through the loop, "You're feeling better?"
"Yeah." Matt murmured as he dipped his head down as he felt Benicia pull the tie shut around his neck, "Now... With you."
Benicia paused and glanced up at his face. She pressed her lips together and forced herself to not clear her throat since she was suddenly nervous. Not responding to what he said, Benicia grabbed the ends of his collars and folded it back down. She pressed her palm to his chest and ran down it to flatten the tie.
"Not that I can verify-" Matt broke out in a large smile, "But you seem good at this."
Benicia couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled from the back of her throat, "Yeah, well, my dad taught me when I was a kid. He, uh, he told me a story of when he had to take his senior portraits. He did his tie and took his photo. But then the principal stopped him and asked how he knew how to tie his tie so well. He said he had to do it every day for Kingdom Hall. So the Principal asked if he'd tie the ties of all the senior boys. He got out of all his classes that day and just tied ties. Right then I said I need to know how to do it. So he taught me and I kept practicing until he said it was perfect."
